Not a bad stout, all things considered; however, it's not astonishingly great either. I try to drink what's in the area when I'm in the area, but I'll opt for some other Old Dominion product next time - or have a different brand of stout. Worth trying, but only once.

Beautiful black stout with a short, tawny head. Aroma is of roasted coffee and sweet, rich malt. Mouthfeel was a bit watery and flat. Flavor featured the roasted malts present in the aroma and towards the finish there was a lingering smokey flavor. Not bad, but just not enough there to take this stout too seriously.

My last beer, on a whirlwind trip from San Diego to Norfolk, via the ever-crappy Washington-Dulles Int'l Airport, where I happened to get a pint of this beer.

You ever think back on your school days, and remember certian particular odd characters, that always seemed to get through life with a shrug of their shoulders and a goofy-looking smile? That happened to ride the Short Bus, because they were "special"? And how you kinda felt sorry for them? Well, this beer is that doofy dumb-kid that rode the Short Bus.

You want to try to like this beer, but it's just too stupid to play along. No head, little carbonation, nil aroma. Strictly paint-by-numbers flavor profile. Boring finish and mouthfeel, infinately dull, and annoyingly undrinkable.

The kind of beer that you want to at least try to respect, but when it's drooling on itself and chewing on bits of paper, in a matter of speaking, there's only so much you can do.

Dark black color. Medium head. Aroma is chocolate, coffee and roasted malts. A light to medium bodied stout. Roasted malts with chocolate and coffee flavors, a touch sweet. Spicy hops. A touch watery, but not to bad. A very drinkable stout. Mouthfeel is round. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly bitter, touch of lingering coffee.

Pours with a black body with reddish tinting topped by a medium thick quickly disappearing tan head with good lacing. Slighlty sweet yet bitter and smokey malt aroma with a touch of chocolate and anoff aroma that I can't quite pinpoint, maybe rubber. Slightly sweet malty flavor with strong roasty notes and an unusually strong hop bitterness that doesn't mesh well with the roasty notes. The finish is bitter and slightly hoppy with a touch of roastiness. Full bodied and relatively smooth.
