Somewhat comparable to a Sam Adams... I happen to like Sam Adams, so it was a really good beer - just not the original. Given that, when I'm in the brew pub in VA, I'll have this one. Any other time, I'll reach for the Sam.

Sampled on draught at a bar while on a layover at Washington-Dulles International Airport. And if I may be so bold as to do something of a play on words here, this beer can be summed up in three words: "Dull, Duller, Dulles".

Flavor-wise, kind of a cross between Sam Adams Amber Lager and Pete's Wicked (Amber) Ale -- with equally predictable results.

Malty, a little dry, a lot astringent, some bitterness..., with not much in the way of overall drinkablity. This was a fresh enough sample, since I got the first clean pint of this off of the recently changed (and presumably reasonably fresh) keg. But quite lifeless and unchallenging, through and through.

In other words, this seems to me little more than an airport establishment trying to make some easy money, by having the Dulles Airport bars push this rather than the overly similar Sam Adams; "If you like Sammy, you'll love our `local' brew!"

    Adequate, but very little else.
