The Rocky Mountain Goat is no ordinary goat. Just like Odell Red is no ordinary red. We took the American-style red to a whole new level by adding a variety of aggressive American hops—giving this ale a distinctive fresh hop aroma and flavor. We think you'll agree this red has some serious kick.

Strong aroma has a firm hoppy overtone, more like an IPA than an amber ale to me. It pours a luscious clear dark copper with a thick, pale copper head that leaves considerable lacing. Malty flavor has a hoppy, slightly bitter overtone and hints of caramel and apple. Smooth texture has good body and good fizz. All around, darned good!

Had on Draft @ The Foundry when i stopped in to use the bathroom after the Beer Kitchen .. . Pours a tan sunset, good foam .. . light malts, maple and some light sap .. . quite a nice beer, and one of the nicest ambers around .. . Odell doesn't make one bad product .. . I told the doctor I broke my leg in two places. He told me to quit going to those places...

Deep red-orange-copper with a two finger slightly off-white head. A sweet spicy/pepper aroma greets the nose. Medium bodied with a nicely balanced hop-to-malt ratio. Clean, crisp finish with more hops that malt. Nice one.

It pours a dark brown with orange and red. The head is about 1/2 inch thick, tan, dimpled, and excellent lace. Scents of sweet hops, caramel malts, pine, berry, and spice/peppers. The mouthfeel is smooth, zingy, rich, and full-bodied. Flavors of caramel malt, hops, citrus, tart, grassiness, and spices/peppers. Excellent! One of the best breweries around.

Nose was fruity with some hop present. Poured a Amber color with some white foamy head that lasted a bit. Medium body with a smooth finish and the carbonation was fine for the beer. I HATED THE FLAVOR. after loving the extra special red so much I was so disappointed that this is the beer that replaced it. It was malty but dull and I really did not get any good hoppiness out of it.

12 oz bottle. Pours a deep reddish amber with a creamy off-white head that retains well and laces the glass.
The aroma is sweet fruity, piney, resiny hops with a little pepper and some nutty malts.
The flavor is sweet caramel malts and fruit with a nice piney lightly resinous hop finish. The mouthfeel is medium to full with smooth carbonation.
Overall, a very nice drinking well balanced beer. It has some great hop flavors.
