With us, the art of brewing is a craft - not an industry. Therefore all our beers are brewed and bottled by hand. Our beer is alive - not killed by filtration or pasteurization. Therefore every single bottle has been allowed to produce its own CO2 pressure. This process renders great qualitative properties, like a good cellaring capacity and a great flavour potential. The yeast at the bottom of the bottle is a result of this. Some types of beer should be served with this yeast. In that case the bottle should be turned upside down a few times, for the yeast to mix in the beer. If one wishes the yeast to be left in the bottle, the bottle should be treated with care - preferably to stand upright for 1 week before serving. Pour carefully, preferably in one pour. This beer should be stored dark and at temperatures lower than +15 C. We recommend +8-12 C for development of the flavour potential of the beer. At fridge temperature this development stagnates.

Pours out a near black beer, thin light brown cap that retains at skin level. Fruity hops, dark citrus fruits.... interesting indeed - unlike any stout I've had. Took a deep breath and found dark chocolate, faint coffee, leafy hops... overall the aroma is mild and balanced. What an odd tasting beer - warm, nothing overwhelming at all, interesting sweetness that I cannot place, light chocolate, coffee, almond, weak hops, slight nuts. You gotta chew it to get the bitterness activated. Biscuits? Nice mouth feel due to the softness. Finishes with a slight coffee / chocolate after taste.

Bottle: Poured a deep black color stout with a large foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma consists of coffee with some dry roasted malt notes. Taste is also dominated by dry coffee notes with some roasted malt. Medium body which is to be expected with some good carbonation. Easily drinkable as per description while still retaining some character.

Tried this at Brewery stand at CAMRA beer festival. Excellent stout from Norway's first unfiltered Micro. Very smooth, hints coffee/choc/coal. Would like some more please Podge.

Black colour, brown mediumsized head. Roasted malt, toffee and coffee in aroma. Roasted malt and old coffee in flavour. A bit watery mouthfeel in this one too, otherwise quite nice.

(500 ml bottle). Norwegian micro oatmeal stout. Black (= very dark ruby) colour, some sediment, good head. Nice aroma of roasted malts with some coffee, dark chocolate and cigar box. Mellow, smooth and pleasant flavour, can't detect the oats, some roastedness, hints of coffee. Easy drinking. Aftertaste is OK, but I'd like some more hops. Rerate: I should add that there also is a moderate but noticeable smokiness.
