A robust renovation of the India Pale Ale. Assertive dry-hoppying provides an aromatic telltale nose, indicative of the bitter symphony to follow. Bold hop character with lively grapefruit and citrus notes. 20° Plato, Alc. 9.4% by Vol.

Pours barely translucent dark honey golden-brown with a thin buff head. Hoppy aroma had a strong citrus note and a malty underpinning. Strongly hoppy flavor has firm fruity notes, cotrus and apple, plus malty and caramel hints. Fairly firm texture is rather fizzy. Put on yer Imperial hat!

Again, Alice related, so I bought it. This was much nicer than the regular IPA. The citrus bittering was there, balanced by a slightly understated malt profile, which is as it should be. The alcohol was pretty well hidden, but it was surely present. Even the hops are a bit diverse...grapefruit and that piney-resiny flavor. Whitish foam lasted a while on this one. Took my time and thoroughly enjoyed it.

Smells of oil and hops upon opening bottle. Average hop taste for a dipa. Finished less grapefruity than expected. Malt aftertaste. Was hoping for more bitter hoppy and less oily, malty flavor. Overall a C+.

Nice DIPA from phishpond. Slightly murky copper pour with a sustained white head which leaves copious amounts of lacing. Big mellow apricot and sweet grapefruit hops aroms with a light caramel maltiness. Taste is mellow yet assertive at the same time with the grapefruit/sweet apricot hops shining through, leaving a slight nice linger, which is offset just a bit by the malts. Extremely tasty. Thank you Travis for this winner.

sampled on 9/25/10. 22oz bottle with mitch. received this from timmy. pours a copper color. thin/medium head. some nice lacing. aroma is citrus/piney hops. medium/full body. taste is moderately sweet, grapefruit, pine, caramel. good carbonation. mouthfeel is full. aftertaste has a little bitterness. bottle has been sitting in my fridge for a few months, its starting to mellow into a barleywine. would like to try a fresh bottle, im sure it would rate higher.

I've had this beer quite a few times now, not sure why I haven't rated it yet, but now that's on hand at Star and I had one a few days ago, it might be time to get this rating out of the way! Pours a hazey orange colour, big white head. Aroma is instantly dank, floral and pine resin. Taste is equally dank, chewy, hoppy and amazingly citrus fruit. Perfect brew on a nice fall day!

Sampled on 9/25/2010. This IPA pours a medium orange gold color from a 22oz bottle. Medium sized white foamy head, nice lacing and good retention. The aroma is fruity and sweet, grapefruity and piney. Medium bodied Imperial IPA. The malts are fruity, caramel and bready. The hops are grapefruity and piney. Good carbonation. I think this bottle has a little age on it, so it is starting to morph into a barley wine. Nicely balanced. Decent carbonation. Not much alcohol presence for a 9.4% ABV. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly bitter.

Bottle: Poured a slightly hazy dirty orangey color ale with a small foamy head with OK retention and no lacing. Aroma of sweet malt base with light floral hops. Taste is too sweet for the style with some floral hops though not as much as expected. Body is above average with medium carbonation and no apparent alcohol. I found that this was way too sweet for the style and not enough hops presence – bottle has been kept in fridge since I received it though I wonder if this was maybe a bit too aged.

I nice IPA, not sure that it's a IIPA however. The beer pours a medium gold with an off-white head. The aroma is definitely hoppy with pine and citrus tones backed by some grassy malt. The flavour is weak hops, not as grapefruity as others. Still, a very good beer.

Solidly malty and nicely bitter. Nothing over the top per style, but I really enjoyed it. Citrus and sticky pine in the aroma with a fresh, soapy hop quality. Dark copper pour, inch thick off white head and thick lacing. Medium bodied, and thick for an IPA (just how I like it). Bitter and malty with a resinous coating. Grapefruit, caramel and pine flavors dominate. Some lemon and a faint nuttiness round out a good balance.
