The solstice heralds in summer. Solstice Weiss is gently brewed, in the time honored tradition, using 60% malted wheat and a triple fermentation. This is a true Bavarian style Weiss bier. “Weiss” means white in Bavaria, which refers to the yeast that remains in our unfiltered bier. Note the brilliant white froth and subdued golden hue. Expect this bier to have a soft champagne like quality, complemented by a wheat character that sparkles with fruity tones. We hope you enjoy our refreshing offering to soothe the summer’s heat.

04.25.05 12oz bottle thanks to MrFacto. Smallish white head fades quickly above a totally clouded gold. Light streams of persistent bubbles stream to escape this beer, but I can’t figure out why. If I was a bubble, I’d happily drown in this sickeningly delicious brew. Big aromas of vanilla, banana, grape, hints of citrus and spice. Phenolic as all get out. Tasty flavors of wheaty cereal, breakfast with bananas and cream, citrus hints, lightly tart. Body is soft and full, but light. Acidity and sweetness balance beautifully to make this a joyous mouthful. Excellent.

Poured a reddish orange color with a medium sized, off white head that left nice lacing on the glass. Aroma of earthy yeast, some cheesiness, lots of spices, predominantly clove, and some light banana as well. Taste of some light, tart, citrusy wheat, light banana, and clove dominated. A really nice hefe, would have appreciated more banana, and slightly less clove. Thanks to CaptainCougar for this one!

Bottle: Poured a dark yellow hazy beer with a medium head with almost no retention. Aroma is a mix of wheat and some spices. Taste is comprised of a very spicy feeling with subtle wheat taste also in the mix. Personally, I prefer my weizen with more wheat then spices with makes them more refreshing then this one. Also, body is average but is greatly lacking carbonation. Not the best of weizen…

Aroma is bananas, bubblegum, cloves, and wheat. Very nice. It pours a murky yellowish orange color with a moderate white head. The flavor is very doughy with a very pronouced bubblegum and banana presence. I detect some lemons and pears as well. I usually don’t like wheat beers but I think these fine folks have perfected the style. I give mad props. A seriously refreshing beer.

Pours with a very cloudy golden body topped by a thin to medium thick white quickly disappearing head with some lacing. Slightly sweet banana aroma with notes of yeast and wheat and a touch of lemon. Slightly sweet lemony wheat matl flavor with banana notes and yeasty accents. Light bodied, smooth and crisp. Wow, a wheat that I actually enjoyed.
