This appears to be the brewery’s first-ever IPA to appear in bottles, a feat considering the brewery has maintained several flagship beers for many years. Simcoe, Cascade and Chinook make up the hop profile in this 7% ABV beer (hop level is 60 IBUs). Simpson notes, “Beer Rangers are our beer sales folks and they had long wanted an IPA – something with a lot of hops. This beer was created for them and as a tribute to all they do out in the market.”

Ranger has a strong aroma , very strong hop flavor, good golden color and very nice mouthfeel. New Belgium seems to be one of my favorites and keeps brewing newer and more exciting beers. Even though I do enjoy there Ranger beer, I found myself only drinking a few before ODing on the High Ibu's, but a very good beer choice.

Grapefruit and violet in the nose pours a medium orange that is clear with a nice white head that leaves decent lace. I really like them out on this it's quite full-bodied for an IPA a little bit creamy. Taste is very well-balanced some orange nice bitterness at the Finish with just a hint of honey in the mix. Extremely drinkable and very well done

A bright orange sunshine in color. A big sudsy textured off white head rises robustly above. There's good hand time and a big ringlet atop the body and a thick film aside the glass. A hoppy, floral-pine nose. Much the same with some bittering citrus in the tasting. A light bready malt backbone. Light, crisp and refreshing.

6.5% ABV= One of the hoppiest non-DIPA/standard IPAs I've had. Clear light gold-copperish appearance, so leans towards the light malt/heavy hop end of the spectrum. I prefer a little more malt for flavor and texture. Still solid brew and something that I would revisit.

My bottle said 70 IBU's ,anyhow nicely balanced. Not surprised when i seen it was 7% abv. The Chinooks came through nicely, the cascade also. I think the only thing i did not like was the simcoe taste. Going to make this soon minus the simcoe and see if its better. Nice brew all around.

Pours a caramel color. Smell is of hops, some citrus. Taste is very hoppy, bitter, some citrus. Overall it could use a little more malt balance but a good beer.

Solid IPA and well rounded. Copper body and a huge rocky head with hearty lacing. Floral and hoppy with a clean citrus bite followed by resinous pine. All of the hoppiness is contained by a caramel and bread malt backbone. Mildly bitter and nicely malted for an assertive yet approachable IPA.

This poured a copper color with a white head. Aroma is pine, perfume, citrus, and a hint of caramel. The flavor is bitter but well balanced. Oranges and grapefruit stand out. A hint of sweetness as well. Overall a well done IPA.

Comes out of the tap a clear, golden amber with a fine-bubbled off-white head that sticks around for a while. Rich aroma is strongly hoppy and evergreen, promising a seriously hoppy IPA. Fiercely hoppy and somewhat bitter flavor lives up to the aroma - drinking this beer is like drinking a liquid pine tree. Texture has a strong bite and is fizzy and smooth, leaving a nice hoppy and slightly bitter finish.

Nice surprise out of a sampler 12 pack. Ranger poured a dark golden color topped off by a medium thick white head that sustains well and leaves nice lace. Aroma is very rich with tons of piney hops and some light citrus. The mouthfeel is medium bodied and smooth, hides the 6.5% well. The flavor is rich and hoppy with some caramel balancing the flavor.

This is a pretty good IPA. It isn't super bitter at all. Aroma is citrusy. Very clear appearance for an IPA. Nice smooth flavor with a bit of fruityness to it. Not to bitter. Very good.
