Comes out of the tap a slightly hazy golden with a thick, creamy, off-white, fine-bubbled head that sticks around. Strong, hoppy, evergreen aroma has a firm undertone of grapefruit. Flavor is quite hoppy and somewhat bitter, with evergreen hints and a citrus undertone that is mainly grapefruit. Tingly, lively texture makes for a very pleasing finish.

On tap/12 boz bottle -
A prett nice IPA that's better on tap than out of the bottle IMO. Similar in some ways to SNPA with the hop profile. Malty aroma with a fruity/piney hop profile. Clearly malt forward though in the aroma. Flavor is more balanced, with a good malt profile. Soft hop echo on the palate with a slightly spicy/acidic finish. I wonder what other hops they use beside Cascasde. Another good buy from Cost Plus. -

Subpar for an IPA. This is an example where the total parts are more than the sum. Appearance not that great for the style, cloudy/murky but in a not so good way. Flavor is actually decent, mainly the aftertaste once the hops kicks in to balance out....but the initial balance seems off. First sample from Napa Smith, and was expecting better.

Another Napa Smith. Hazy copper pour, sediment and floaties, short head, some lacing. Decent hopped aroma but almost stale, offset by malts. Earthy hopped flavor, decently sweet too, maybe over-sweetened from the malts, some linger, not outstanding but drinkable.

some decent scores on here, but this was a sorry-ass excuse for an ipa, especially a california ipa! murky orange-amber. most likely old, but it was newish on the shelf hear AND NOT FRIGGIN BOTTLE DATED! i put the blame there on the brewer, and this beer sucked. way malt heavy with lots of cardboard in the aroma. while the aroma seemed old the taste was just downright bad. didnt finish. little to say positive. one of the worst ipas ive had.

beer 1, at the Austin Saucer .. pours a hazy honey amber .. low head but awesome lacing .. . light bitterness for an ipa .. . pretty tame effort, not that enjoyable .. . . The sound that it makes is a recording of a turbine engine played backwards..

An amber colored beer with a big frothy textured, white head rising above. There's some hang time. It settles into a medium ringlet and some splotches of film. Pretty straight forward IPA. Bold Pine-citric hops in the nose and on the palate with a sybtle sweet malt. Leight-medium body. Sure was refreshing on a hot summer afternoon

12oz bottle. Pours a hazy golden amber with a medium creamy white head that goes to a thin film that laces the glass some.
The aroma is some grains and wort, and caramel/toffee/butterscotch malts with some tropical fruity hops.
The flavor is butterscotch malts and grains with a decent amount of tropical fruity bitterness in the finish. The mouthfeel is medium bodied with smooth carbonation.
Overall, there's a lot of diacetyl here, but it seems to go OK with the beer. -

Very cloudy apple juice color. Off white head with decent size and retention. Left some pretty good lacing. Burnt orange and yellow highlights around the bottom and sides. Some organic, earthy, peat type of aromas. Some peach aromas too. This beer may be past its prime. Getting some butter and sour notes. The taste provided a very earthy hop bitterness. Buttery and almost "cracker" like. A touch of alcohol flavoring and very sour tasting. Medium mouthfeel. Almost chewy. Mostly smooth. Left a bit on the palate. Provided some decent warmth. Not my favorite brew. It was drinkable, but I don't want another. Probably past its due date. I'm tired of getting bad beers with no dates on them.
