    Aroma is chalky with hints of chocolate and sugar and is malty and sweet. Appearance is a deep and dark burgundy in color with a medium-sized head on top that is off-white and carbonated but dissipates too quickly. Mouthfeel is light-bodied and a bit watery but offers some nice malty overtones as well as some decent balance with a palate that is pretty meaty. Flavor is roasty malt with hints of expresso with an aftertaste that is of burnt wood with a finish that is fuller and crisper and actually pretty good. Overall, I am impressed although it is more like a mild ale or brown ale; very drinkable stout here I must say so.

    Deep, dark coloring with little tan head. Nearly no lacing. Aroma of roasted coffee, but little to back it up. Thin mouthfeel, not much in the way of chewy carachteristics expected. Smooth drinker, but an average stout.

    Poured the usual, slightly thin looking though. Head was very unimpressive, almost non-existent. Aroma was mostly of coffee. Flavor was watered down, coffee was the predominant flavor, but not all that good of a coffee flavor. Light chocolate underneath with some burnt embers in the flavor. Mouthfeel was light.

    Light seeps into the body in ruby glints. This has the characteristic froth of the brewpub’s beers. Fairly big mocha aroma, sweet body. Good bit of toffee. Body is thin, though. Smells like a caramel macchiato from Starbucks.

    I just love stouts. Happily, this one did not disappoint. Deep rich dark color, with ruby tones held up to the light. Tan, thin head. Sweet, roasty aroma. Dark chocolate and coffee flavors. Very nice indeed.
