Aroma has tones of semi-sweet chocolate and fine roast coffee, with a very strong smoky overtone and a hint of toffee. It pours a deep, warm sable with a thick, if not overly persistent, tan head that leaves some good lacing. Smoky flavor has roast coffee and woody tones with nutty, chocolate and toffee hints. Texture is smooth and fizzy, a teensy on the watery side but still more than acceptable. If ever you are in Oregon, look for this one!

This should be in coffee stout (if we're gonna break stouts up into 99 catergories). Aroma is light. Earthy hops and roast. Smells a bit young. Body is average, as is the taste, even though I am a sucker for coffee stouts. Moderately bitter with light coffee. Not quite a letdown, but under average for the style - average overall. 2014 - in tap at HUB, a totally different coffeerific beer. 3.2-4.0

Pretty cool beer. The mouthfeel is thin, but well suited. The flavours are robust, coffee is well apparent, touch of acrid coffee oils, the kind found on the side of an old coffee container. No shortage of flavours here. The malt profile is leaning a little to the sweet side, something like dutch double licorice, bit of aniseed, bit of burnt white sugar, definately some smoke, more smoke, some woodsy tones. I think the grain profile is super interesting, I cant seem to find anything definative in it, its all over the place, but it is wonderful and round. Hops: not so much, something realtively benign performing a bittering role is in there, but it really takes a back seat to the coffee and smoke. Something like dried out cigar, some hints of madiera perhaps, it has a sweetish taste, yet dry, biscuity and good. I keep rambling because it keeps wandering all over my palate. Really good.

Pours a dark tan head over a dark brown beer. Not a whole lot of foam. Aroma is very strong of sweet coffee. Expresso. One of the best smelling coffee aromas I've ever experienced. Medium body, though starts a little watery. This beer is almost like candy, like a coffee flavored jelly bean. Starts out a little sweet with a dry finish. Pretty smooth going down. I've been drinking so many Imperial versions of styles lately, so it's nice to have one that isn't a tastebud wrecking ball. Very enjoyable!
