Our India Pale Ale exhibits a complex hop aroma, largely due to the generous usage of Cascade and Centennial hops, as well as a subtle malt character from the various malts used to achieve the wonderful balance exhibited in a world-class IPA. San Diego has become world renown for the wonderful and flavorful beers produced here – and India Pale Ales are no exception. Our national award winning interpretation of the style reflects both the history of IPA and the American variation of this distinct beverage. We hope you enjoy it! 66 IBU

A deep yellow colored bodied beer with a small two fingered sudsy textured, white head. Dissipates far too quickly. Not much lacing left behind. Nose is subtle. Pretty straight forward IPA in the tasting, Citric and some pine hops. Some bready malt. Moderate bodied, crisp and refreshing.

12 oz bottle. Pours hazy golden orange with a medium creamy white head that retains well and laces the glass.
The aroma is piney, dank, oniony hops.
The flavor is sweet bready malts with a a big piney, resiny hop finish. There's a little onion but not as much as expected from the nose. The mouthfeel is medium bodied with low carbonation.
Overall, a decent IPA. It has good bitterness but a bit of onion. -

Boring IPA, or perhaps tame would be a nicer adjective. Moderate floral hops, typical citrus and pine.....just very light. Copper body, thin head and bits of lacing. Great balance between hops and malt, light bodied for the style. Some lemon and grapefruit followed by toast and saltines.

Very floral and fairly citrus centered ipa. Nothing outside of the box, but pretty solid all-around. This is the Mission beer I'd choose as a session.

It was an IPA with all requisite qualities expected of such. It was good - not great, but good - just not the $7 good that I paid at the bar. Decent enough, but not worth going out of your way for.

ot this as an extra in a trade with Snojerk321. 22 oz. bottle into a Duvel tulip/ Pours an orange-amber with a large sudsy head which settles to a coating with islands of froth as it warms. The acing is nice, coating the glass throughout. Nose was orange, mango, pine, caramel malt and some hints of alcohol. Taste starts with a sharp hop bite, resins, some pine followed by a liberal dose of sweet caramel malt. The aftertaste was a dry bitterness. Mouthfeel is medium and a little slick. Unlike other reviewers I found medium to heavier carbonation. All-in-all, not a bad offering but not close to my favorite west coast IPA's.

Sampled on 1/29/2010. This IPA pours a medium orange gold color from a 22oz bottle. Medium sized white foamy head. The aroma is hoppy and caramel malts. A medium bodied IPA. The malts are fruity and sweet. The hops are earthy and floral. Nice balance. Very drinkable IPA. Medium bitterness. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly bitter.

Bottle from choprite. Copper color, a thin head settles on top which yields some decent lacing. Caramel, grapefruit and pine in the nose. Pleasant aroma but not big. Very drinkable and solid. Grapefruit with pine hop flavor, slightly lemony, soapy and oily, with soft caramel underneath. The sweetness of the beer is complimented very well with crisp bitterness in the finish. Nicely balanced. Not massive by west coast standards but still very good.

My apartment is infested with koala bears. Its the cutest infestation ever. Much better than cockroaches. I turn the lights on and a bunch of koala bears scatter. I’m like, come back! I want to hold one of you, and feed you a leaf... just kiddding, a very well made brew, mellow yet big for just an ipa, thanks to usmc!

I was really looking forward to a new IPA from SoCal. Picked this up while at Perry’s in Livermore, and it was stored in the cooler. Popped this one open and there was nearly zero hops. Just a ton of carboard with a little bit of caramel sweetness. Ugh. Like a kick to the gut. What a letdown. The beer was a beautiful pour, darkish amber, clear with a creamy light tan head. Light fruits on the palate, some light biscuity sweetness and VERY minimal hops. Really a total let down and perhaps it’s just a bad bottle. I’ll pick-up another one and see if it’s any different, but this one was just blech.
