Thisn is why we sometimes let our brewmaster out of the brewery! While on vacation, he came across this distinctive style of golden ale brewed with loads of aroma hops for a strong pine/citrus scent but without the excessive bitterness of West Coast IPAs. A bright white head on a burnished golden body makes this beer a thing of elegant beauty. Curious indeed.

From a mixer 6-pack. Pours a pretty thick frothy eggshell coloured head and has a dark golden/rusty appearance. Thick dirty lacing. Aromas of floral and citrus hops. Mild spices and oranges. Flavours are slightly bitter citrus hops, light sweet malty notes are quite apparent. Smooth creamy mouthfeel. Excessive carbonation. Easy to drink. Not bad.

Part of their 2013 summer seasonal pack at the LCBO. Pours a clean golden-amber colour with a frothy warm cap, decent retention and soapy lacing. Nice fresh hop smell at first, but after breathing it calms down and fruity malt notes come out. The taste is a little milder, but the hop remains with light grapefruits and other citrus. Notes of the cereal malts, fruits and grass lingers in the finish. Gets better as you sip it, with light bitterness building. Quite a nice brew for Mill Street and a real good APA (or West Coast IPA) overall. This should be a regular.

Lawnmower beer #2. The beer poured a translucent red-tinged gold with a thin white head. The aroma was pine, grapefruit and grains. The mouthfeel was medium bodied with medium carbonation. The flavour was light grapefruit and bready malt. A crisp refreshing drink but falls considerably short of the Hawai'ian description found in the initial press release
