so many reviews do to... so little time... this one pours a dark dark brown borderline black with a 2 finger tan foamy head that gave way within a minute of pouring. Leaves next to nothing for lacing and next to no head. the aroma is strongly of caramel & roasted malt. the coffee smell is obviously strong, with this being a coffee porter and all! the taste is strongly coffee with a good helping of malt. i love malty beers so this is a winner in my book. the mouthfeel is a little thin and watery, if a bit more thick and full this beer would be AMAZING! and there is a slight coffee aftertaste that sticks in your mouth... like coffee.. dont know if thats a good thing tho... nothing beats coffee breath early in the morning! overall good brew and easy to pound back!

This was sensational! I really enjoyed the rich, dark coloring. There was a beautiful scent of coffee and chocolate. The taste was a nice blend of coffee and a hint of vanilla. I highly recommend this!

Very nice super dark brown appearance. Smelling the coffee and roasted malts almost immediately. Head doesn't really stay long. Taste is fairly strong, coffee, hints of chocolate, nuts, wow. Mouthfeel is of a spicy variety, or more like tingly on the inside. Pretty damn smooth going down. I love my coffee and my beer, and these go so well together.

Poured into a beer mug light does not escape from the depths of this brew. Pours black, and if you hold it up to a bright light you can see a beautiful red come out, but just slightly. Tan head fades quickly and doesn't leave much on the glass. The smell is mainly coffee with some roasted nut hints. I was surprised the coffee wasn't as overwhelming as I thought it might be. The taste is all coffee with a nice sweetness to it. The mouthfeel is crisp and well carbonated. The taste fills the back of my mouth and lingers on well after my glass is empty. Overall a very interesting, tasty beer.

I tried this beer on April 19, 2009 at "Smokeless Joe's" in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. The beer poured a dark brown, almost black with a 1/2" thick tan head. The aroma was roasted malt, coffee, and chocolate. The mouthfeel was l;ight to medium bodied, with medium carbonation. The flavour was sweet with a huge blast of coffee, and some malt, although slightly watery. -

Wonderful tasting beer with strong coffee smell and molasses undertones. Dark black color and nice sparkle on the tongue even after the beer has sat for a while. One of my favorite beers which I buy almost every week. Bravo to this brewery.

This beer is a very dark brown in colour, almost black. The aroma is heavy on the coffee..no question what the bloodlines of this beer are. The flavour is a of a slightly sweet coffee.

This is a much talked about brew in the Toronto area. This beer is the reason I decided to try the vaunted Mill Steet line. The beer was appealing in colour (dark brown...like coffee), in aroma (coffee), and flavour (um...more coffee). But don't get me wrong......this is a beer, and a damn good one.

Has a very strong but not too overpowering coffee flavor. Very smooth tasting. Overall its one of the better porters I have had.
