The labels on McNeills look like they were printed with a dot matrix printer from 1986 using a black and white version of DOS Paint. Anyway a black appearance with virtually no head. The flavor is quite bitter with a sort of oily mouthfeel. The coffee flavors stand out in this beer. A little one-dimensional for an impy stout but a good beer nonetheless.

"Noogfest 06". The aroma was of leather, whiskey, tobacco, and creamed coffee with some profiles of hops. The appearance was a pitch-black and a rich deep burgundy in color when held to the light with a nice and full head on top that is a light-brown in color. The mouthfeel was full-bodied and robust as well as smooth and silky and amazing. The flavor is of tobacco, whiskey, creaminess, full of coffee, and java. Overall, this is a badass brew with plenty of a hop presence which adds a nice dynamic to things. This was one of the best impy stouts I had at the tasting and reminded me of a Lion stout.

10.07.04 bomber from Captain Cougar. Black and goopy, thick-looking pour; stout head for an impy that fades to a marbling film of head. Aromas are surprisingly hoppy and floral, complimenting the pitchy, burnt malts. The usual array of choco-coffee is present. What really sets this one apart is the extra dose of hops, and it’s a pleasant diversion that adds well to creating a better sense of balance in this still massive beer. Very nice stuff.

Perfectly opaque. Dark head is sluggish and fades slowly. Aroma is surprisingly hoppy. There's a distinct coffee flavor. I wouldn't be surprised if they added coffee. Cream. Grassy, peppery hops are very strong. They must have hopped the hell out of this thing, but the hop profile is exquisite and oddly alluring, even though I prefer my Imperial Stouts to be a study in malt and yeast instead of a primer in good hopping. Low chocolate, almost no fruitiness compared to other Imperial Stouts.

I will second jcalabres opinion and Thank him for the sample. Black pour with little to no head. Very subdued roasted malt nose. Had a medium body with a very bitter hop finish. Not overly impressed with the brews I have sampled from this brewery.

Thick black w/ little or no carbonation. very hoppy for an Imperial Stout. Left a bitter taste on my tongue. Tried this side by side w/ Fish Tale Poseidon and McNeill's came in a very poor second. this isn't a top 50 beer, IMHO

Pours with a black body topped by athin to medium thick head with some lacing. The aroma is slightly sweet and slightly bitter with a slight roasted coffee note and a touch of licorice. The flavor is bitter with a slight sweetness, lots of roastiness and some licorice notes. Full bodied and smooth.

22 oz bomber. Jet black in color with a nice tan head. Massive aroma of malt. Roasty. Chocolatety. Smooth. Hoppy, chinook. Big bold flavor with hops. Full bodied. Well balanced. Enjoyable.

Dark black body with a chocolate milk head. Burnt charcol flavor, kinda waxy also. Faint hop aroma to go with some chocoffee. A lill too boring in my mind.

Big head and motor oil pour. Hoppy as a m*ther-f*er. Decent lacing throughout. Quite a hopped up Imperial Stout, but I like it. Keep it coming.
