India Pale Ale was developed in Burton, England, as a "Super-Premium" hoppy pale ale around 1800. The extra strength in alcohol and hops helped preserve the beer on its long export journeys to India and beyond. The style developed a following worldwide. Its flavor begins with a smooth, malty creaminess followed with a big burst of dry-hop flavor from English Kent Golding Hops. It then finishes with a lingering yet pleasant bitterness.

Pours clear topaz with a good ivory head. Aroma generates resiny hops, juicy orange and fresh malt. Flavor provides bitter piney hops, zesty orange, tangy pineapple with some sweet mango. Texture brings nice body and peppy fizz. Make a big swell.

A bright amber colored beer with a big frothy textured, off-white head rising above. There's good hang time on the head. A thick ringlet and lighter film are left. Caramel upfront on the nose. Laid back citric and pine hoppiness. Very sessionable. Thirst quenching.

Orangey gold, just a touch cloudy, with a tall rocky head leaving lots of fine lace. Aromas of sweet caramel, tart lemon, bitter grapefruit, sweet & sour pineapple, and maybe even a trace of vanilla. A little sweet up front without being fruity, bitter grapefruit & bread yeast quickly follow-- not too extreme, then finally mellows a little without really balancing. Finish gets drier over time. Fine carbonation, smooth & wet feel, not really sticky. I like it, and I prefer cans, but this is not spectacular, especially for the money.

Being from Maui, I had to give this at least a try! I was taken back the spicy citrusy local style additions. The brew is a little cloudy but the mouth ful is nice and crispy. The after taste is mellow nice and smooth. Packaged in a can shows that they at elast care about the product they put out.

Not bad. Loved the readily available canned brew. Big, hearty IPA- golden-orange, nice sized white head. Piney nose, clean malt backbone, astringent hops. Plenty of grapefruit, fresh tropical fruits.

Pours an orange/brownish color. Smell is of hops, citrus. Taste is very hoppy, some citrus notes, considerably bitter, not much malt balance. Overall a pretty good beer.

355 ml can, Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. ABV is 6.8%. Golden colour, slightly hazy, large and lasting white head. Nice aroma of American hops, with fruity and piney notes, also some malts. The flavour is hoppy with notes of piney and grapefruity American hops - but not extreme for an American IPA. A touch of crystal malt sweetness. Bitter aftertaste. Pretty good beer.

From jerrymorrison in recent trade: nearly clear amber orange pour with a tight white head and big lacing rings. Subdued aromas of mango and pineapple scented hops and light sweet malts. Taste has same fruity qualities, with a sweet and big hoppiness, nicely offset by the malts. Fruity yet earthy. Sweet yet bitter. Nice IPA - thanks Jerry!

Nice aromas with grapefruit being the most prevelent, also some floral, and fruit notes as well. The body was a clear mid to deep orange, the cap was on the thick side and it left some decent lace. Flavor was mostly grapefruit and pine but there was a floral yeast presence that i really cant quite pin down, to be honest it reminded me of a toned down version of Stone's Cali-Belgique, or like Suds said "medicinal" that sorta fits, unusual but not bad, kinda interesting, worth a try.

It pours a nectarlike burnt-orange with thin white head and copious lacing. An aroma of grapefruit, hops, pine, apricot, caramel malts, and spices. The mouthfeel is smooth and rich. Flavors of caramel malts, hops, citrus, bread and yeast, pine, and spices. Very good IPA!
