This is one of those beers that as you drink it, you realize that the Germans know beer. This is one of the most refreshing Dortmunders you could try. beautiful medium gold colour, a solid malt bill and a good hop profile on the nose and tongue. Outstanding.

Poured into .5l hefe glass. When opening the bottle foamed over. Storage temp. was 50' F, too warm? Light golden pour, two finger head that dissapated rapidly. Nice drinking beer, smooth, a little lighter than I like.

Clear and golden pour; short-lived pure white foamy head. Light aromas of fresh grain, grass and earth. Grainy and dry mouthfeel. Good flavors of soft malt with interesting hop character. Subliminal salty/spicy notes. A light sweetness hides beneath the sour bitterness throughout the finish. MUSIC: 'Shine a Light' by Wolf Parade; "Some will sink some will get called to the light"

A brisk pour produces only a thin, pale white colored head. The aroma is at first pretty light struck, but this dissapates to a lightly herbal hop note after a bit. A light sweetness from the malt character contributes something a touch like honey and there is a nice, dry, toasty grain character reminiscent of crushed saltine crackers. A hint of lemon zest rounds out the mostly herbal hop aromatics here.Cool and fizzy the beer has a bitting carbonic note to it up front and is quite crisp from the cool serving temperature. This finishes with a nicely noticeable, bitter hop bite. Fairly light bodied, but does have some viscous malt body to it. A touch of lemon zest again combines with an herbal hop flavor and a touch of grassy / hay notes; this last from both the hop and the malt components. A hint of malt sweetness becomes a bit more noticeable as the beer warms up, but mostly the malt character takes on cracker-like and light, toasty grain notes.
Not a bad beer, probably not at its peak condition after traveling across the pond, but still quite quaffable.

Draught@GBBF2007. Golden colour, small white head. Aroma is hay, hops and malts. Flavour is malts, hops, slight saltwatery notes as well as hay. Pleasant, but not very special.

Poured a golden clear yellow color with a weak initial head and very little lacing. Aroma was earthy, light, some herbal notes. The flavor was herbal hops, light grass, bitter, maybe a malty bitterness? Or was it hops? Mouthfeel was grainy, flat, dry, somewhat bitter. Not overly done on the malt side of things, that's for sure.

clear golden colour, almost no head, herbal hoppy aroma, full-bodied, light oily with a robust bitterness, very dry and bitter herbal finish - this is good
