This brew goes out to Jeff Hanneman (Slayer guitarist) who passed away today. Pours a slightly hazy golden colour with a frothy, off-white head, that has decent retention and leaves a bit of foamy lacing. The hop gives the nose a weird scent, almost like a sour outdated brew, but it is not. And it is not as bad. The rest is malt, like German ones. The different hop is tasted as well. Gives out notes of grapes. Overall, malty with decent grains. A little sweetness, but not too much. A little warming alcohol, but not too crazy. A different kind of brew, but good for the style.

750ml corked bottle: Departs a glowing deep gold hazy lager with a 2 finger sticky cap fair retention good lacing. Aromas from Germanic heaven: deep bready maltiness fills the room, woody herbal hop notes and a wee bit of alcohol. The great aroma does not transfer to the flavor profile..yes there are the ample malts and noble hops needed for a big German lager .... Develops some decent woodsy-earthy-bready complexity and the finish is clean with a noble hop bite...just that the sweet-boozy tastes are always there riding on top of the profile, over powering these big fresh lager tastes. this is a traditional heller bock...massive improvement over previous releases.

The beer pours a hazed medium gold colour with a 1" foamy white head and plenty of effervescence. The aroma is grainy malt, light fruits (pears/apricots), and herbal hops. Mouthfeel is medium to full bodied, slightly creamy, and well carbonated. Flavour is grainy malt, bitter hops, and earth notes. -

Good price for the size of bottle and high abv. Poured a large foamy, creamy head. Has a hazy golden/yellow appearance. Very strong fruity aromas, mainly oranges and mandarins. Faint smell of alcohol coming through. Somewhat similar in taste but also strong hops, malty bitterness. Tangy aftertaste and mouthfeel. Flavour sort of reminds me of the Blanche de Chambly (a Witbier, this one a Bock). Bitter malts in the finish. Pretty good.

Comes in 750ml bottles which is a good thing because this is a great beer. A cloudy golden pour with a white head. Plenty of fruit tones in the aroma to go along with the biscuity malt and floral hops. Almost a tripel feel actually. The flavour was malty and fruity, and a great beer.
