A broken axe signifies your work is done for the day — so take off your gloves and claim your reward. Stacked with bold flavour and bright citrus tones, this beer is a cut above. Named for its bold clean-cut flavour, Broken Axe American Pale Ale is a crisp and juicy reward to a hard day’s work. The welcoming aromas of peach and apricot develop into a tropical splash of lemon and grapefruit. Centennial, Wakatu and Idaho 7 hops are on double-duty, offering a balance of medium bitter flavour with a sharp citrus twist. Chalk it up as another cutting edge creation by our homegrown brewers: Mike Pawlick and Andrew Walsh. Malts: 2-Row Pale, Vienna, Carafoam, Wheat Malt Hops: Centennial, Idaho 7, Wakatu.

Tallboy from LCBO. Pours an average size thick frothy off-white head and has a pale golden appearance. Some sticky lacing. Moderate carbonation and medium retention. Aromas of barley malt, grassy and piney hops. Flavours of grassy and herbal hops. Some sweet malts. Orangey and zesty as well. Has some bitterness on the palate in the finish.

A slightly hazed golden colour with a big frothy-foamy warm cap, good retention and nice creamy-foamy lacing. Pine and cedar wood aromas from the hops. The taste has more of the citrus peel. Crisp mouthfeel with a big dryness in the finish. Nice bitterness lingers. Oranges and grapefruits. Quite a nice APA.
