Maybe I just wasn’t in the mood for a saison, or maybe it just wasn’t a very good beer but this was just so-so with me. Out of the body, the beer has a light golden body, clear and a thin 1/2" sudsy head. Citrusy and bready in the aroma followed by some light spicyness. Sugary and slightly lemony on the palate, it reminded me of some kind of lemony shortbread cookie.

This is really a pretty tasty little saison. Of course it’s poured crystal clear, just like all Lagunitas beers, but it’s full of gingerbread and pepper. Banana and lemons flesh this out a little. I’m not getting the smoke references of an early rating. Perhaps that guy got served the wrong beer? I wouldn’t put this at the top of my saison list, but I’d drink this baby again.

Aroma is spicy, peppery, hoppy, malty, and very nice with some fruitiness coming through. Appearance is cloudy and dark yellow in color with a medium-sized head on top that is off-white in color and remains. Mouthfeel is light-bodied, has balances of spiciness, decent malt complexity and has a palate that is wet and clean and tasty. Flavor is peppery, fruity, spicy, and has an aftertaste that is clean and crisp and has a finish that is very wet as well as a bit cloying. Overall, good saison brew here but I have had better.

This saison pours a light gold color from a 22oz bottle. Medium sized white foamy head. Aroma is spicy, yeasty and a little funky. A medium bodied saison. Malts are fruity and sweet. Hops are slightly earthy. Nice spicy saison. Light and refreshing. Nice lively carbonation. Spicy and earthy with that touch of Belgian funk. Very drinkable saison. Finishes with a touch of herbs. Mouthfeel is full. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly bitter.
