4oz sample. Pours a decent size frothy off-white head, dirty lacing, pale golden appearance. Aromas of citrus and grass, some herbal and pine notes. Flavours are fruity, mostly citrus. Some pine and notes of wheats. A bit yeasty as well. Not too bad.

Brewed date on bottle neck tag says June 2009. Comes in a 1 Litres brown bottle with a flip-top. Pours a hazy golden-amber colour with a white frothy head, and decent retention and lace. The carbonation is composed of tiny bubbles. Hoppy scent that is floral, but not too strong, with notes of honey and grain. The mouthfeel has a little stick on the tongue. Grainy malt taste with the hop being there again on the medium side. Grassy with light bitterness in the finish. There is still a small coating that tops the brew as it is going down. The aromas and flavours become much better as the beer becomes warmer. Nice IPA that seems to be made for the middle market. Not too hoppy to annoy the swill drinkers, but better brewed than most IPA, for our likings.

Draft: Poured a light copper color ale with a small foamy head. Aroma of light bitter hosp with some malt presence. Taste is a nice aroma of bitter hops with light dry caramel malt in the background. Taste is also a nice enough mix between some bitter hops with a caramel malt backbone. I though this was lacking in hops but still refreshing and without any flaws.

1liter swing top bottle. Decadent clouded orange-copper ale with a sticky 3 finger puffy cap that lasts and laces. Aromas of fresh grapefruit rind and fresh baked bread waft up from the mug...glorious! Rich chewy mouth feel, ample medium body, well balanced hoppy-malty character. Big chew on bread malts in the front, minimal sweetness and caramel but very fresh and bready...instant balance with long boil and infused hops...citrus, cedar, spruce bittering balances the big malt and mixes with the fruity esters...substantial finish,... long, lightly bittering with a biscuit and metal after taste. This APA rocks! not so much for being "bigger" than the popular PacNW APAs and DIPAs...but for being well put together and well executed...and very drinkable....exquisite balance which is rare in big ales these days.
