The naturally cloudy Monchshof cellar beer is the result of Monchshof's centruries long brewing tradition and of the love of traditional beer brewing. This amber colored, mild beer appeals to lovers of unfiltered beer, the way it used to be brewed. A traditional Monchshof beer speciatly!

The beer is a light amber color, slightly murky, and topped with a white bubbly head. The aroma is caramel, light grass, weak herbal hops, and yeast. The flavor lends towards the caramel side of the spectrum with the grassy flavours, and the hops, hidden. Quite good.

Dark golden yellow with decen white foam head. Aroma is light malty with hints of grain. Taste is low bitter with malt and grain/bread. Somewhat bittersweet aftertaste. (Velp 201212)

I did like the Kapuzinger Weisse This made by the same people. A nice beer.Slightly cloudy pour out of snapcap bottle. hints of biscuit, bready yeast no aftertaste. I believe this is the same Kellerbier. The distributor says something about they cannot sell this with 'Kellerbier' label. State of Texas law about "beer" on the label comes only in 12 oz. bottles?

500 ml swingtop bottle, bought at Rewe Getränkemarkt, Erding. ABV is 5.4%. Brownish golden colour, big head, slightly off-white. Bready aroma, hints of caramel, lightly toasted malts and grassy and herbal hops. Soft and mellow mouthfeel. The flavour has a decent presence of malts, a hint of caramel and very moderate hops. Easy drinking, not a great beer, but nice enough.

Great looking bottle and a nice label. 500ml bottle in a flip-top style. Beer pours out a cloudy root beer brown body with an uneven soapy white head. Aroma is slightly malty, a bit of chocolate? Flavor of light peanuts, crackery malts, with a slightly tangy kind of finish. Not bad.

This Kellerbier pours a light amber color from a 50cl flip top bottle. Medium sized white foamy head. Aroma is rye toast and caramel. A medium to light bodied Kellerbier. The malts are caramel and sweet, lots of rye bread. The hops are spicy, herbal and grassy. Nice toast flavors. Nice balance. Good carbonation. Light and refreshing. Crisp and clean. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is crisp and clean. Aftertaste is slightly sweet.

Big white head. Foggy darkish yellow color, not looking very nice. Aroma is different than any other beer, maybe remonds a little bit of Belgian strong beer (Duvel).Taste is a little bit too watery, but not bad. Drinkable, but nothing special...

1st Kellerbier I've tried. Pours a murky river water brown with a decent off white head, golden color around the edge of the glass. I was not expecting a lager to be this dark so this was indeed a nice surprise. Aroma is faint and a little funky. There is a bland breadiness quality mixed in with some grassy aroma. Mouthfeel is decent watery yet crisp I can't complain. The flavor is decent, slightly sweet with the bread quality rounded out by some light malts. Drinkable but not very exciting it's a decent brew.

Ok, I don't have a lot of depth in kellerbiers, but this was enjoyable and the only one I've experience with a fresh pour on tap (vs. an imported bottle). Poured a cloudy orange-copper/brown color with a very nice off-white fluffy head in a small 0.25L mug with a handle but no lid. The aroma was malty, some caramel. Flavor had a touch of caramel, was malty rich, and also featured light hopping (even a touch of pepper noted). Mouthfeel was fully and hearty, liquid bread, a nice beer enjoyed at the Dachsbrau house in Krefeld.
