Clear dark brown white foam head. Aroma is light caramel. Taste is like an ALT, little caramel. Some toffee. Short aftertaste. Little dissapointed in this one. (Velp 201401)

Deep copper colour, huge off-white foamy head. Aroma of rye, nuts, malts and some slight caramellish notes. Flavour is malts, rye, nuts, butter, some dry fruits and spices. Alcoholic warming touch in the finish. Very wellbalanced and refreshing.

500 ml swingtop bottle, now available in Norway (Vinmonopolet, bestillingsutvalget). ABV is 6.9%. Orange to amber colour, large off-white head with an orange hue. Moderate aroma of malts, some fruity hops and bakery, notes of alcohol. Flavour is fairly malty and bready, some caramel sweetness, alcohol is evident but not too much. Some hoppy bitteness and slightly burnt notes in the finish. OKish, but not my favourite bock.

I ain't seen this one for years in the states. back in the day, this was a first rate german brew. Found the bock in Franken. Not the greatest bock, but damn sure does the job. If I could buy it in the Forest, would be a daily drinker. Matlz dominates, 6.9%, does the job well. For the geld, it is sehr gutt!

Bottle. Dark amber colour, clear with a small, but lasting off-white head. Malty, caramel aroma, with some hops. Crisp and malty, then sweet. Nice, sweet, grainy finish. Smooth, medium bodied, medium mouthfeel, maybe a bit thin at the end. The alcohol is well hidden. Good bock.
