330 ml bottle, Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. ABV is 11%. Colour mid between mahogany and ebony, moderate to low beige head. Lovely aroma, malty with strong notes of brown kandij sugar and caramel, also notes of dark dried fruits, hints of mild spices, leather and oak. Malty and medium sweet flavour, notes of dark dried fruits, brown sugar and caramel again, also hints of mild spices, chocolate and oak, moderate hops in the finish. Moderately warming mouthfeel. Excellent stuff.

Taps dark chocolate brown with a thick, fine-bubbled and persistent tan head. Aroma grabs the nose with chocolate, roast malt, molasses and coffee tones. Flavor delights with mocha, roast malt, molasses, and subtle woody hop tones. Smooth mouthfeel offers good body and fizz. Worth ordering for the presentation, and a great brew in itself!

Dark clear ruby red, small off-white foam head. Strong ale aroma, some caramel, some nuts. Taste is quite nice, less bitter, not sweet. Strong taste, some coffee aftertaste. Some riast. (Velp 201401)

Another stellar Hootenanny beer; not sure who showed up with this one as it was later into the tasting... Murky brown pour, tight tan head, some lacing. Big ripe pitted fruits, cherries, dates, some chocolate and toffee, super rich nose and flavor, bit and warming. Big ass beer, very very good.

A dirty brown in color. Small, off white head rises briefly above. It settles into a thin ringlet. The nose is sweet caramel and cherrie. Thetasting follows. Full bodied and nearly syrupy.

This poured a dark brown color with beige head. The flavor is rather sweet with some chocolate, grapes, nutmeg, caramel, cherries. Holy crap this is good. You can’t taste or smell the alcohol. Almost perfect.
