With this characterful beer beer we will be in the autumn. Roasted rye malt has been added to traditional Haarlem brewing grains of barley, oats and wheat. Discover this tasty beer with roasted and fruity notes. The burned bitterness is reminiscent of pure chocolate mixed with red fruit.

330 ml shared bottle, as Jopen Bokbier, Viergranen is not mentioned on the label. Thanks to abemorsten! ABV is 6.5%. Dark ruby colour, large beige head. Dusty and malty aroma, hints of cigarbox as the beer warms up a lttle. Medium sweet flavour, malts, caramel, rye bread, mild roasty notes. Nice to drink.

Clear light brown with decent light brown foam head. Aroma is sweet caramel, but also some nice hop. Taste is not too sweet for a bokbier, nice. Short caramel aftertaste. (Haarlem 201304)

If you were to go on appearances alone, you'd be hard pressed to drink this. HUGE floaties milling about makes ya wonder if they did their wash in the water they used to brew (I know, it's just yeast...I hope). Pour is a hazy brownish/red color. Aroma is sweet, caramel and really plummy. Flavors were a bit on the sour side, yet still bready with a bit of fruitiness there. There are soo many better Belgian beers out there, I doubt I would ever purchase this.

This poured a murky brown with a beige head. Good lord look at the floaties in this thing, like a sample of water from Lake Erie. A caramel, nutmeg, chocolate, and plum aroma. It will tickle your freaking nose. The flavor is very sour with some grapes, chocolate, and bready. A doughy presence is definitley there. Some alcohol in the finish. Not bad at all.
