Pours a small enough size frothy beige head and dissipates to a thin layer. Has an amber coppery appearance. Weak lacing. Aromas of light roasted malts, toffee, breads. Flavours of bready and nutty malts, caramel and toffee notes. A tad of sweetness in it. Just a slight watery mouthfeel. Lively carbonation. Pretty good coming from a large brewer.

The beer pours a translucent copper colour with a thin 1/4 inch head. The aroma is very grainy with caramel and metallic notes. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with average carbonation. Flavour is burnt caramel, grass, and a weak metallic note. Best Sleeman beer I've had in ages.

Nice to see that Sapporo continued with the new beers from Sleeman's old book of recipes. Third one in the installment and not expecting a heavy tasting bock, but more refreshing. Pours an amber-orange colour with a big creamy off-white head that stays a while and leaves great patchy lacing. Big caramel aroma with some Euro malts and bread. Lively carbonation with a medium-light body. The taste is pretty mild though, with the same found in the scent and a little metallic hop in the finish that creates a bit of bitterness, but so mild overall. Like my expectations, a nice different beer for such a brewer, but made for the mass market that wants it refreshing. Great with food !

Didn't like the newest offering from our Japanese Canadian friends in Guelph. Clear orange-red with a thin head. The aroma is sweet malt, corn, and grass. The flavour is sweet malt, corn, and metal.

Bottle fresh from the brewery. Pours a orange-amber lager in the glass with a respectable 1 finger white cap, fair retention and lacing. Light aromas of caramel and cereals, a light woody mustiness. Thinnish body, with a modest caramel malt spine. The herbal-woodyness of the Hallertaus is hidden below the malt profile until they show up in the quick lightly drying finish. Not cloying, malty, with a slightly dry finish - has bock characteristics but a tad thin for the style. Very approachable and sessionable but this is not what I look for in a bock. I like strength, but this makes a nice sipping bock with nachos.
