pours golden and a loose head. Herbal aroma, and buttery apple notes. Medium bodied, easy carbonation, smooth........ I didnt like how crisp it was, also combined with an awkward sweetness...Citrus flavors, malty wheat, bitter spice. A rich flavor but not so complex for the style. Well its smooth, pretty good beer

Nothing really special to note of this beer, although I was suprised to find that it's considered a saison. A bit oxidized in the nose, it did have a rather off-sweetness that wasn't appealing. A sweet flavor to go with the sweet nose, it also had some woodiness that was a suprise. Overall I wasn't swinging one way or the other. A rather average beer, but not a saison.

As I near the end of my hand-picked mixed 12-pack from this brewery, I'm now at a point where I get to enjoy some of the ones that I doubled-up on -- including this very pleasing farmhouse ale from Jack Russell. And although I think the style freaks can debate this beer's style until they are blue in the face, in my mind it bols down to that this is a very nice beer. Glad I picked out two bottles!

Poured this into it's own branded "Jack's Farmhouse Ale" stemmed glass (yeah, I *am* a big dork, thanks for asking!), where the head on this made a rather abrupt and unforseen early exit. While not nearly as critical for this sort of beer as it would be for, say, a Hefeweizen or Tripel, still, would have been nice to have a bit more to look at, I'd say.

But all is forgiven when it comes to the nose and the flavor profile of this one. Quite appealing, and rewards a paitent palate in spades, I'd say. Hits the mouth a little "hot" and sweet, but then quickly breaks it down nice and easy, with some biscuity notes in the middle, and a very clean and tasty finish. Slightly woody in the after-taste.

Quaffable, with only the slightest touch of some over-dryness in the extreme finishing touches to the beer. Quite easy to down, I'd say.

As the number of reviews reveals, this has been something of a "fan favorite" from this particular brewery, with more reviews posted for this one that any other offering. And while I wouldn't say that this is the be-all and end-all from this little-known brewery, it does reflect a certian panache that perhaps more widely known breweries seem to have forgotten about over the years. Recommended.

Straw colored brew with a fast fading white head. Nose is yeasty and spicy. Full bodied with a fruitiness to it(peaches and apricots) and some spiciness(clove). Very trippelish. Overall a nice enjoyable brew.

Orange color. Medium head. Aroma is fruity, barnyardish, leathery, and spicy. A med bodied saison. Malty and spicy with a touch of fruitiness. Orange, herbal and wood, with a overall mustiness. Very drinkable, Nice and smooth, No sign of the 6.7% alcohol. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is crisp and dry. Aftertaste is slightly sweet.

Thx to herbjones for sharing. Clear yellow with a minimal head, nice sweet aroma. thick tongue feel, no sign of the alcohol, a complex, sweet flavor. more triple-ish than saison, but very enjoyable.
