Well....although there's nothing exciting going on here, it is well worth the price (on sale at Publix for $5.99). Not as hoppy as a Tumbler or some other seasonal browns. I don't remember caring too much for the regular Dundee Honey Brown, but I would get this again for party beer or just to have some economy lying around. Tastes like the basic honey-brown base but with some extra spice, hops, and less honey to create a better balance. Was gonna pass on this one, and was almost fooled by the low price ...but glad I tried. I think Chef Chad's review pretty much sums it up.

Presentation: It was poured from a brown 12oz bottle into a pint glass. Appearance: It has a nice deep reddish amber colored body with good clarity. On top sits soft light tan head of about medium size. Head retention is ok as it slowly fades to just a very thin wispy covering. Lacing is minimal and very slick sliding down with the head. Smell: The aroma has a nose of holiday spice, cinnamon being the standout, as well as sweet dark malt with just a touch of hops. Taste/Mouth feel: The flavor has a pleasant touch of cinnamon and nutmeg inside of a sweet malty body with a slight hint of orange peel and citrus acidity in the background. Its hop character is very light and modest. Its spicy flavors carry on nicely into the finish. The texture has a creamy smooth feel with a good balance of carbonation and a solid, fairly well rounded body. Notes: Overall it was a pleasant Winter Warmer Ale.

Well here is the deal... This beer taste great but lacked in everything else. That being said I can't hate a beer for not having good aroma or lack of any. I can't hate a beer for not having a great color to my eye. I thought the beer was watery at best. But through all of this... It taste really nice. Not over spiced or strong just a nice beer.

Festive ale pours a deep ruby hued body, that has a thick head, ample carbonation. Aroma and flavors of sweet malts, spices and caramel. Mouthfeel was decent and it had a slightly bitter finish. Overall it was a fairly decent beer especially for the price.

woo... is lightly spiced... the taste and mouth is Muddled but does show some promise, ..maybe ..... medium head on the pour ... lacing is actually damn fine!! ..does carry some strange aroma's... basically....."weak!" ...Is nice for a winter warmer not to be over spiced but that lack of body hurts this brew...

Poured clear ruby color with an average creamy off-white head that diminished slowly with minimal lacing. Average spice and malt aroma. Medium body with a thin texture. Moderate sweet spice flavor with a medium sweet finish of short duration.

Pours a clear brown. The spicing isn’t too overdone. It’s fairly well balanced with the sweet malt. Nothing stands out here to be easily identifiable, but that’s not really a bad thing. Pretty tasty, and very drinkable.

This beer poured with a brownish amber colored body topped off by a medium sized biege colored head that left a decent amount of lace down the sides of the glass. The aroma was sweet roasty malts with some nice spicy tones coming through as well. Mouthfeel was medium bodied, smooth and very drinkable. The flavor was rich with some roasted malts, honey, cinnamon, and much more of a hop profile than I originally anticipated. A pretty nice seasonal, especially given the reasonable price.

Dark pour, moderate head, little lacing. Roasty aroma. Guess what? This was pretty good. I had been avoiding in my fridge, fearing the worst. Roasty flavor, touch of chocolate and a just a touch of spiciness. Very little sweetness, a bit dry. Pretty good, especially for the price. Easy drinking.

Ok, I am finally impressed with a brew from the JW Dundees line. This is a nice little inexpensive spiced seasonal. Good amber/copper pour with a monster head that doesn't leave. Decent lacing and ample carbonation. Bitter scent with a solid malt nose and a touch of different spices, needs to be more aromatic. Filling brew and somewhat thick, although the finish has an empty bitterness. Semi-rich malty base with hints of many spices. Cinnamon, nutmeg and perhaps a touch of ginger seem to stand out. A bit of honey is present. For what it's worth I was impressed by this offering considering most of this brewer's products tend to be rather bland. The easiness with the blend of spices really stands out.
