JW Dundee’s Honey Brown is the Original Honey Brown lager. First brewed in 1994, Honey Brown satisfies consumers looking for a fuller flavored but easy to drink beer with a crisp clean finish. In brewing Honey Brown, we use a dark pilsner style lager and add just the right amount of Manitoba Wildflower Honey. This creates a smooth Honey flavor that fades to a crisp dry finish. We use just enough hops to dry out the honey’s sweetness without lending any unpleasant bitterness to the finish. We continue to receive accolades from premium tasting competitions including a Gold Medal at the 2002 World Beer Cup. Very light, very clear honey gold color. Minimal head or head retention. Small amount of lacing. Sparse bubbles working from the bottom of the glass. I am actually detecting some of the honey in the aroma. Can't tell if its real or artificial. Either way its not off putting. A touch of grain or grass also. Some of the adjunct lager scent coming through but not real overwhelming like a lot of "macros". Again, picking up a touch of the honey in the taste and it is definitely more of an artificial honey flavor. Little in the way of bitterness. A tad acidic even. A bit of the adjunct corn coming through. Medium to mostly thin mouthfeel. Doesn't leave much in the aftertaste. A bit of a carbonic bite on the tongue. Doesn't coat the throat or tongue real strongly. I wasn't overly impressed with this beer. Wasn't full enough for me. I mean, I can drink it, but I'm not going out of my way to find this beer. It is better than any "macro", but I was expecting something maltier with a better mouthfeel.

Took a shot in the dark with this beer and came away disappointed. Pours a amber color with a small head. Aroma wasn't there from this bottle, just a faint hoppy smell. Flavor is somewhat sweet with a little honey and hops. Overall, fairly disappointing.

Bottled@Monks Café, Wallingatan, Stockholm. Deep golden colour, small white head. Aroma is fruits, wood, saltwater and some mild earthyness. Flavour is fruits, wood, saltwater as well as some caramel malts and mild honeyish sweetness. Mild notes of metal as well.

A very good brew for the price. A nice aftertaste of honey is nicely balanced with a light hoppy flavor and some malts. Very drinkable, your girlfriend or wife will probably like this one, too.

This is one of those beers that I used to order in clubs or bars when they didnt have anything better. It's a better than average beer, but doesn't have much flavor besides sweet malts and honey. Not much hops in the taste....the opposite of a BOM. Medium brown appearance, kind of clear. Good for daytime or for mowing lawns when you don't really want "lawnmower beer".

A clear amber colored lager. Lots of bubbles. A small, unimpressive head. Settles quickly into a smake soapy white lacing. If you are expecting bees abuzz in this one, check your neighbor’s tree instead. Subtle malt in the nose. Light body with some creaminess. Malty sweetness in the taste. Light, sweet, refreshing lager.

nothing wrong with the malty nose or flavor, or the subtle honey tones...it's just not enough. still a macro lovers beer. too many better brews out there to go back to this one.
