Dark amber colored liquid (spot on color match for SN Bigfoot) with a dense creamy head. Rich caramel malt with a good deal of citric/floral hops. It’s almost great, but the bitterness gets a bit acrid in the finish. I’m not sure if it’s yeast or hop acridness, but I definitely haven’t kicked up the settled yeast with my pour (I haven’t even poured the second half of the bottle). The hops are strong and provide excellent balance to the malt. A bit undercarbonated plus the previously mentioned off flavor hurts the feel. Good, drinkable Amber.

Sampled on 3/9/2009. This amber ale pours a medium amber color from a 22oz bottle. Small to medium sized beige foamy head, with good retention and nice lacing. The aroma is fruity, caramel and sweet with some floral hops. A medium bodied amber. The malts are caramel and sweet. The hops are piney and reisny. This would be a big hop load for an IPA. A big hoppy amber. Long lasting bitterness. I had another big hoppy amber like this the other day, this beer has the malt sweetness to balance all the hops, so this one was much more drinkable. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is bitter.
