BB dec 2010. This bottle is 7.7%abv. Pours a light gold colour with a small off white head. The head fades leaving some lacing on the glass. Aroma has rye, oak, fruit, pretty typical I&G aroma. Flavour is kinda weird, rye with the hops and oak and a sweet fruity presence all mashed up just doesn't do it for me. I like an IPA but this is different than any I've had. The mouthfeel is solid, goes down smooth with no alcohol burn. Soft carbonation. Overall it's not bad, but not something I think I'll buy again.

Bottle: Poured a golden color ale with a small white foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of fruity notes with light oak and some light skunky notes which leads me to believe they should drop the clear bottles. Taste is also dominated by light fruity notes with some sugary malt and some strange cereal notes. Body is bit light with good carbonation. Definitely a one-off and not the best one from this strange brewery.

THis is from a liquor store gift pack. A good beer in a clear bottle. Thank God for boxed packaging. A golden beer with a oak laden earthy aroma. The malt isn't that strong here. A good bitter finish.

Came in a gift pack for the Christmas season at the LCBO. Probably not the same as the limited edition IPA they made 64,000 bottles, as this one is 7.7% ABV. Close enough though. Nice pack with three of their brews and one glass. Testing this one in their glass. Pours a golden colour with a copper hue. Its head is big, creamy-bubbly white with great retention and nice rings of lace. The carbonation is very light with a few tiny bubbles here and there. The nose is pretty yeasty with notes of grass and alcohol. Beautiful creamy and smooth mouthfeel. The alcohol is also present in the taste. Mildly bitter, but not like a usual IPA (from the hop). I get a touch of green apples in the aftertaste. Some mild grain and you can almost feel the wooden barrel on your tongue in the end. Quite a complex one in the flavour department. Not a bad beer, but different from the typical IPA (and much better than the swill one).

The beer poured a golden orange with a very thin white head. The aroma was malty with some slight wood tones. The mouthfeel was medium bodied with medium carbonation. The flavour was malty with some hops a very bitter wooden aftertaste, almost leafy. -

WOW. What a mess this is. I may pour this due to my unwillingness to drink it... maybe not. Dammit, it's a very interesting beer that is actually a good beer but I'm sure I'll feel ill after the whole bottle.
Poured out a weak dark gold (light amber?), bright white thick cap with pretty good retention and 360 degree lacing. The smell is no where near any IPA ever created so it will get marks for that. This is definetly unique. Aromas of butterscotch, weak herb, some unknown fruit, toffee? The aroma is very persistent which is nice and oddly appealing. Very sweet smelling. The taste is mainly oaky / whiskey / butterscotch with the hops becoming more noticable albeit still mild. A touch sour later on, one can find some alcohol bite. Nice smooth mouth feel, closing on medium bodied mainly due to the thickness it imparts somehow. Soft but slightly undercarbonated swish. Dry sweet malty sour hop (little bitterness) finish. I did not think I would get through this entire bottle but now it's gone and I could drink more although I can't convince myself that I really liked it. Remind yourself that you will not be drinking anything that resembles an IPA, period. Self note - I did not rate on style on this one, sort of. -

Nice looking bottle in a special addition box the beer it self looks a pale honey brown and capped off with a noisy thin head. Aroma is a not so pleasant butter scotch, oak, the hops isn’t really noticeable the only thing I can smell is oaky butterness caused be the oak barrel aging and it’s not working for me. Aw fawk gross nasty all I taste is butter and rye the after taste is all butter. There is a mild bitterness in the beginning of the sip what might be slightly pinny but then the pure butter takes over there is a slight oaky malt flavour. This is just all wrong, it’s different and I never did give it the dump but this is not an IPA I have no clue what it is buts it’s not an IPA.

Gift-boxed 30ml bottle 2007 edition Poured a deep gold with a 1 finger sticky cap. Aromas of thick caramel some earthy and woody tones Interesting IPA..richly malty with deep caramel tastes and some light apple tones in the front..middle gets a tad more interesting..earthy-woody-tart like sour peach...finishes wet with a sweet and sour woody after taste. Not what I look for in an IPA...and I fought the idea that the "butterscotch" aromas and tastes were diacetyl... but certainly well matured rounded ale, very soft to the mouth with interesting unique complexity...but a tad sweet for my liking
