A smooth red lager without the bite. We use four types of specialty-malted barley and two types of hops, Hallertau and Cascade, which are added at the exact point in the brewing cycle to create the ideal quality blend of aroma and taste. We use our own proprietary strain of lager yeast, and all of our beers are brewed with our own on-site natural artesian spring water from the historic Indian Wells Spring. Mojave Red is lagered for several weeks, then finished to our exacting standards.

smooth and rich my ass. another drainpour. a promising dark red brew that smelled more robust, if a bit of a mess, and had more body too it, but was ruined by more unpleasantly sour flavor. what the hell?

quite an easy beer to drink, albeit not very exciting .. some dark caramel, and dusty chocolate ... clean aftertate .. simple, yet no real offenses .. thank you duffman for this freebie ... needs to be fuller to make it a talker but nice stuff for the style ..

This is as local a beer as can be found in the Owens Valley. Not much of a smell and no bitterness at all. Nothing exceptional about the taste, but definitely drinkable. I like to bring these for guitar playing in the park...great thirst-quencher. Not my favorite beer, but better than their "Gold" variety. 7-6-07: I've had so many of these that I really can't stand them anymore.

Having just had a so-so- bottle of Mendocino's "Raptor Red Lager" (and thus killing my taste buds with it's cloying sweetness), I fiigured no harm could be done with tasting another Trader Joe's Special (of the same style, no less). And who knows? Maybe this little-known brewery actually makes a decent beer of this ilk?

How wrong can I be? Let me count the ways. Let's just say that all of none of the positive points I had with the Red Raptor (i.e. the bitterness) is absent with this beer. And, conversely, all of the negative aspects of the aforementioned Raptor Red are only more highlighted with this beer -- namely, the ghastly sugar-ass-sweet cloyingness that kills not only the mouthfeel and drinkabvility, but my taste buds on the whole.

The epitome of the reason why I generally hate this style of beer. Unfinishable, IMO....

Did not think much of this beer either. Deep red color, medium head. Roasted malts, kind of spicy, no hoppyness, flavor a little weak. A watered down red ale. Finish is neutral.

Pours a clear copper color with a two fingered dirty white head. The nose has some sweet maltiness in it. The flavor is a bit malty up front w/ a tiny bit of hops on the finish. This is a good lawn mower beer. Nothing spectacular, but a good thirst quencher on a hot day.

A reddish color with little head. A mild malty aroma is present. The flavor is quite tame with just a hint of caramel in there. It is a bit watered downed. This beer isn’t bad its just boring.

This is worthy of high accolades. It's a semi-sweet palate with a drier finish than I expected. The mouthfeel is almost creamy. Very Red in color with a perfect head that laces the glass. At $4.99 this is a steal.
