Huber Bock has traditionally provided a creamy texture and rich flavor to beer lovers all over Wisconsin. It has a fine malty body like the bocks of southern Germany, but it is drier than the typical bocks of Bavaria.

Seasonal beer so we would stock up on it, keep it in the bilge thru the sailing season. Bilge beer in lake Michigan is the the proper temp! Love this beer not a bitter dark beer. We could get this in $11 Ponys back in high school great for camping

In my college days, this beer cost $5 for 2 cases, making it an easy, tasty choice - even for breakfast. Since then I've had this beer on many occasions but almost always under the same circumstances: seated at the timeless bar in the back room of Baumgartners, on the square in Monroe, WI, while eating a deliciously pungent sandwich of limburger cheese (or limburger & braunschweiger), on rye with onions and mustard. A PERFECT combo with this beer. The color is a deep brown with a thin tan head and a thin but crisp mouthfeel. The mild aroma of fruity malt yields to the sweet lightly roasted taste, along with slight butterscotch creaminess and faint hop bitterness.

Not sure why I haven't had this before. Something tells me i might have. Eitherway, last night I enjoyed $6 pitchers of this pretty decent beer. Pours a dark black colour with a small tan head. Aroma is pleasent, dark roasted malts, caramel and burnt toast. Taste is slightly metallicy eitherwise light but filling. coffee, raisins and plums.

This is truly a great beer and the best thing is that it only costs twelve or so dollars for a case of bottles. The joeseph huber brewing company is now only known for berghoff, but huber bock is as good as if not better than any of the berghoff products at a fraction of the cost. The bottles seem to be recycled or something and the really fat cases they come in are used over and over again. So if you drink huber or huber bock return your bottles and cases and write a message as i did on the case.

This bock was cola colored, had a moderate head and a mild toasty malt aroma. A little lighter in body than their Berghoff version, with a sweet caramel flavor and a hint of baker's chocolate. The finish was smooth and slightly sweet. A grand old American bock and at a good price too.
