Description A smooth, slightly hoppy pale ale with a light fruity nose and made with 100% barley, hops, water & yeast. Delicious! It is named in recognition of Squamish BC's rich forestry heritage and the expanses of fir, hemlock, cedar, and balsam that dominate the regions beautiful landscape. Food Pairing This American-style pale ale has a pronounced hop aroma and bitterness. The hoppiness cuts through grease or anything with vinegar as a key ingredient. As such, it goes well with fried foods and spicy dishes. Our Bottle This re-closable bottle, known as a “pot-stopper”, was widely used in Europe and North America prior to the 1950s. Our new combination cap is an innovative design that allows closure by both crown and swing caps. It can be re-used and meets our green packaging objectives.

This is one of the first beers in which I came up against the argument, do I rate the beer on the style or the overall place in my heart? This is why getting many 8's the beer receives a 7. Quite liked the beer, however it does seem extremely mono-flavoured. Extremely prevelant orangy hops on the nose and the taste. On the smell you would not expect as much flavour. Has a lovely citrusy acidity that makes the beer pop on the tounge. Seems like an exellent companion to a game of golf in the hot summer in a desert (a "game" I loathe). In saying that, this might make golf loads of fun, a bottle of savginon blanc is getting a run for its money here. Outside of relaxing in hot weather, this beer does not rate high on my list of beers, its lack of complexity being the downfall. Great roundness, great balance. The beer is nearly finished now...

Not a favourite style of mine at all, but I certainly enjoyed this rendition. Poured a thin yet creamy ivory head to cap a cloudy, almost orange body. Aroma was little, some hop perhaps. Taste had what may've been caramel along with what no doubt was hop. Easy on the palate and a smooth finish. Another good 'un from Howe Sound. Thanks for the big one-litre swing-top bottle.
