Best thing about this beer was it's appearance, which is very dark/near black. Has a good frothy mocha head caused by the high carbonation. I found it overly carbonated, had that champagne feel to it. The flavor is decent but nothing special....mainly roasted chocolate malts and coffee. Reminded more of a black lager though over the stouts that I enjoy best. This was another imported beer that I recently bought that didn't quite seem worth the price tag.

First product from this brewery and the first thing I notice is how carbonated this one is; pours all foam and I find myself waiting for it to subside. Aroma on this one is toffee and roasted malt with some chocolate and mocha with even some creamed coffee overtones and is actually very nice and better than I expected. Appearance is an opaque black to very dark burgundy in color when held to the light with a massive head on top that is too carbonated and dissipates too slowly but leaves thick lacing on the glass. Mouthfeel is medium-bodied and awesome as well as velvety smooth with balanced complexity and has a palate that is clean and crisp and wet-like as well as robust and full. Flavor is of lightly roasted malts and grain with chocolate, mocha, maybe some caramel, and bittering hops on the backend with an aftertaste that is robust and very nutty and extremely smooth and has a finish that is malty and sweet balanced in harmony with slight bittering hops and offers some dryness and sweetness. Overall, this beer is amazing and all points are high even given the fact the carbonation was out of control; a great dry stout here with wonderful drinkability and truly a gem; not sure if the previous lack of taste of the beer I had before this one played a role in my review; and is worth finding it and reviewing...Recommended for sure!!!

Very dark rubyish black colour, mediumsized beige bubbly head. Aroma is sweet roasted malts with hints of some hops. Flavour is mildly roasted malts, which turns into burnt wood and dark chocolate while you drink.

LOve this bottle, the traditional long ,thin neck makes the pour just perfect. In appearance.its gorgeous black ,black, black with a lovelly tan creamy head. However the aroma is rather pedestrian , mostly faint roasty maltiness. Maty sweetness in taste covered by a burnt roasted barley, hints of dark chocolate and dark roasted coffees. Nice taste Pretty average mouthfeel..quite carbonated and thin compared to many stouts. Its a drinkable enough stout. But I dare say I would not pay $5 again, when I can get much better and much cheaper American stouts here.

Pours a very dark brown with a ran, thinnish, chocolate milk-foam head. The aroma is a nice bit of cocoa. This could be a decent stout if there wasn’t that odd soapiness floating around behind the cocoa and touch of roast. The body is also pretty thin. Boring and a disappointment.

very dark brown colour, few foam, very nice roasted coffee aroma with a touch of toffee, light oily, thin-bodied, moderate bitterness, dry black chocolate aftertaste - subtle but could afford a bit more character in its body

Very hoppy for a stout with a strong aftertaste of bitterness. The malt is muted. The aroma is acidic and the color is very dark. Overall, a very good stout, but nothing too special.

Bottle. Poured a very dark brown/black, with long lasting tan head. Aroma is roast coffee malty. Flavour is chocolate and malt, with a dry bitter finish. Smooth with a medium mouthfeel. A good stout.
