I liked this a lot, even though the coffee flavor was a little over the top......but I like coffee. More on the bitter coffee side, with the chocolate malts sweeting it up a bit. Mild hop balance. Strong coffee aroma. The bottle says "malt beverage", so I'm not sure if this is a true stout as far as the way it is brewed. Worth the try, and would probably sample again.

This is a breakfast ale. Brownush blackness in color. A two finger frothy textured light brown head rises above. There's some hang time. An impressive cap is left behind. A blunted coffee nose. But the tastes dances out in coffee and roasted maltiness.

Maybe I got a bad bottle but this beer was disappointing. I was expecting a nice frothy stout but got a metallic taste instead. Jet black pour with a medium tan head. Smell is coffee and roasted malts. Flavor was not there, metallic and old coffee taste.

On nitro draught at the place of its birth. A step above its boggled version which I've enjoyed a few times. As black as night with a deep, dense, lacy head. Plenty of coffee in the nose, but subtle and beneath the fragrance of the dark roasted malts. Creamy smooth mouthfeel on the nitrogen, enhancing the richness of its flavor. If my predecessor reviewers here haven't tried this version of the brew, I suggest they do so. Their opinions may change!

From phishpond via OktoberPfist. Pours a mahogany black with quickly-disappearing head leaving chunks of lacing. Faint aroma of coffee, cocoa, very slight molasses and slight toasted malts. Taste is a bit weak for a stout with a weak coffee flavor, some molasses, and roasted malts. Tad thin for a coffee stout.

This one poured a dark black color with a creamy tan head. It had a strong coffee aroma with an equally strong coffee flavor. It was made very well, but it wasn't my thing.

This beer poured beautifully in the class a deep dark black colour with reddish hints, full bodied, with aromas of mocha chocolate and coffee. Taste was delicious with choco-coffee flavors all the way through. Very creamy on the palate. Delightful indeed!

This is a jet-black, opaque stout with just a hint of a ruby hue. The appearance demands a thick, creamy, persistent head but instead delivers one that’s too thin, too fizzy, and too short-lived. The nose is the not very appetizing aroma of stale coffee grounds. Flavors include a slight roasted malt and chocolate tinge under a pronounced and somewhat bitter coffee assault. This beer is medium bodied with a decent, smooth mouthfeel and has a smooth rich finish, but the overpowering, stale smell and taste of coffee grounds make it just too undrinkable.
