Sampled at The Paas in The Hague. Light golden colour with a small frothy, white head. Aroma has abricots, raisins and grapes, along with fruity yeast. Flavour is cinnamon sweetness combined with nuttty notes. Quite interesting brew. Served in it's original Kapittel goblet, looks ok, nothing special.

Bottled at Monk’s Café, Stockholm. Pours out in a warm golden colour with alow creamy white foam. Doughy yeast aroma with touches of hay, herbs and dried apricots. Medium-bodied with notes of yeast, dough, dried oranges, almonds, hay and spices. Rather hoppy finish of grass, herbs and mint.

This is my first time having this beer. Unlike most of the beers I review on here, it was not recommended by anyone. I saw it on the shelf at Beers of the World in Rochester, NY and thought it looked like a good drink.

The pour on this is golden blonde color. The head on this beer is pretty nice. I let it sit for about 5 minutes after I poured it and there is still a decent head. When drinking it, it leaves a very feint veil of lacing behind on the side of the glass.

There is a hint of banana that hits your mouth when drinking this beer, most likely due to the yeast used. It is a fairly smooth drink with a favorable mouthfeel.

Beyond this, I don't have much else to say about this beer. It's pretty average and there nothing special that sets it apart from the rest. It's definitely not worth almost $5.00 a bottle.

Yellow colour, small white head. Aroma is hops, grass, paper and metal. Flavour is paper, hops and slight caramel. Quite watery and boring thing for het kapittel.

330 ml bottle, bought in Frederikshavn, Denmark, as "Kapittel Watou Blond". "Het" seems no longer to be part of the beer’s name, or have they different labels for different countries? Anyway, the beer pours hazy golden with a large head. Typical Belgian blond ale elements in the aroma: Yeasty, fruity, spicy, oaky, hints of barnyard. Flavour is mildly spicy and hoppy on a moderately sweet and malty background. Not a "big" beer, but nice.

My second product from these guys and so far, so good. The aroma is doughey with maybe some melon coming through as well as some nice light fruit overtones with some slight sweetness as well as yeast. The appearance is a golden blonde with some floaties with a medium-sized head on top that is well carbonated and bubbly and remains on top throughout consumption and is a white in color. The mouthfeel is light and crisp and very smooth with some nice yeasty and doughey complexity with a nice texture and balance with a palate that is wet-like. The flavor is of light fruits like apple or melon with some yeastiness with an aftertaste that is of bananas and mysterious spice with a finish that seems to be a bit watery if not a bit sloppy which is surprising considering the country of origin but still is tasty and smooth and very drinkable. Overall, not a bad Belgian blonde here and is pretty solid but could be better and this one is not as good as other examples of the style I have had; quality brew here. Also, I do detect some of the metallic overtones of this brew as well like pksmith mentioned above and I am not sure why this taste is present.

Pours a light orange with a lot of suspended stuff (call it a dishwater-blonde?) with a decent head and some lacing. The label has changed somewhat but this is the same beer from the printed info. Aroma is light and fruity, banana and apricot esters tease the nose, and malt. Flavor is pretty good, it follows the aroma quite well, but there’s a nasty metalic taste here. This is my third bottle from this brewery and I’d swear I was drinking this through an aluminum straw. Blending this with "palate," there’s a nice mineral feel to it which may account for *some* of the metalic, but it’s really keeping this down. Overall, I’d like to rate this higher, and I would, but damn if I can get rid of the metalic taste.

Very nice belgian blonde, with all of the characteristics of the style. Nice thick white head from the pour. Lovely blonde color. Normal fruit and spice aromas and tastes, with the usual hints of a yeasty character. One thing about the Het Kappitel line. They don't blow you away like other Belgians that are out there. Still good, but there are better ones out there.

A disappointment. This was the last of a 4 pack variety I tried. Pours a golden blonde with plenty of frothy white head which stayed thru the whole glass. Aroma is typical of a belgian, with bananas and fruits noticable. Mouthfeel is somewhat watery to me. The flavor killed me. The first thing I noticed was a metallic flavor, for lack of a better word. Beyond that, a little sweetness, some spices. I couldn't, however, get past the metallic taste. Really dragged it down.
