Golden Revolution heralds the arrival of a new Czech pilsner standard. This handcrafted, dry hopped imperial pilsner sends a powerful message to the pilsners that have come before. Echoing the words of one of the Velvet Revolution's heroes as he dismissed the communists, Golden Revolution proclaims: "Thank you, now go away".

The bottle mentions that this is a new kind of pilsner and boy are they ever right. Deep golden color isn't that much different than a prototypical pilsner, but the head is definitely creamier - almost like you would get from a nitrogenized can of Guinness. Aroma is nothing extraordinary - hoppy, as expected, along with a few grassy/herbal notes. The taste - this is where things go a little strange. Overwhelmingly sweet. Yes, sweet. Caramel like sweetness overpowers the bitterness you know is supposed to be there from start to finish. The effect wears off as it warms (or maybe you just get used to it). I found myself thinking it was OK at first then really liking it by the end of the 750. Mouthfeel is a bit more thick and creamy than a 'normal' pilsner. Also has a kick in the alcohol content that probably contributes to the sweet flavors. Like my Mother always said - try it, you'll like it!

Pours a clear full golden with a creamy white head. The aroma is pretty hoppy. The maltiness is a bit on the syrupy side. This really isn’t the best beer out there. If they dried this one out a bit, it’d really improve the beer.

I can't really say I liked this. It's really waaaayyy too sweet for my liking. I was expecting a hop punch but it's really honey sweet like melted toffee and beer combined. I couldn't find much of a hop profile because of the overbearing sweetness. Maybe it was just me. I think I will pass. Thank you, now go away.
