Beer looked gorgeous - almost jet black with coffee coloured head. moderate carbonation no lacing. Smell of roasted malts. Unfortunately tatse was overly bitter for my liking - more like a very dry stout but without the smoothness of stout. Needs more malt flavour to fit in with scottish styles and porters.

(Cask conditioned). Sampled at the Wear Valley CAMRA Beer festival, where it was served at room temperature with no carbonation whatsoever. Dark ruby colour, exquisite aroma, a bit thin mouthfeel, pleasant mild spicy flavour. Recommended! Would love to try it again, preferably slightly cooler at a Hebridean pub.
