Pours a brownish amber color with great tan head in my pilsner glass. Aromas are plentiful with notes of slight acidic coffee, chocolate, toffee, and caramel. Flavors of cocoa, coffee, caramel, and chocolate. Slightly acidic in taste. Nice carbonation. Light to medium mouthfeel with slight sweetness that's pretty well evened out by the hops. This is a really nice beer.

Aroma of toasted caramel malts and hops, with a two-finger head that dissipates leaving nice lacing. Medium-bodied and smooth, with a complex flavor of nutty, toasted malts, slight hops, and bitter hints of chocolate and coffee.

Pleasant surprise in the Wintry Mix 12 pk. Medium clear tea brown pour with a nice light tan head which shrinks to a sustained cap leaving a copious amount of lacing. Sweet and dark chocolate and toasted malts in the aroma with some nuttiness. Big nice chocolate malt flavor with nuts and slight java. Very, very tasty and a very good Dunkel.

This dark Bavarian inspired beer pours a very dark copper color with a dark ruby red hue. A big frothy tan head sits on top which hangs out for awhile and left behind delicate lacing on the glass. The aroma is sweet and bready with a light hopy and nutty character. Its flavor is full of dark sweet malts. There are burnt caramel, dark toast and chocolate notes over a moderately bitter hops. The malt sweetness lingers into the finish. It has nice medium body with good carbonation a silky smooth texture. I really enjoyed this beer and would defiantly recommend this to anyone who enjoys dark Munich style beers.

Poured from a bottle that was a dark brown in color. The aroma was that of toated malts with a slight caramel hint to it. This has a very nice flavor and wish I could get my hands on more of it. Nice rich malty flavor that has a lot going on. Well made.

I was surprised That I liked this beer. I do enjoy Dunkels but it is so hard to find good ones, over skunked crap is what you get. This was refreshing and could be a great sunday BBQ beer. Good flavor, nice head and a good medium body. A bit over roasted but I enjoyes the bitter on the back... nice beer

From a bottle. Pours a clear dark red/brown with a white head. Aroma is sweet and fruity. Flavor wasn't much at first, but after a few drinks really started to come through. Spicier than expected with some coffee and chocolate flavors. Really impressed by this beer. I'm normally not a dunkel fan, but I enjoyed this one.

Bottled@SBWF2007. Deep amber colour, mediumsized brown head. Aroma is caramel malts, some hops and slight leather. Flavour is malts, hops and quite bittery. OK brew, but lacks a "moment of excitement".

This has quickly become one of my favorite Dunkels, boy am I impressed with the overall enjoyment of this beer. Rich aroma of lightly roasted malts, mild chocolate and maybe even a little cedar. Pretty nice pour, medium darkness for the style. Nice creamy tan head and some solid lacing. Nice body and really smooth, easy to drink. Flavor is lively, the malt is headstrong but coupled nicely with some balancing hop flavors. Lightly smoked with a moderate bitterness. A wonderful tasty treat.
