Smooth and very refreshing beer. Can't get enough of it. Less carbonated is the key here along with the fact they use excellent water in their brewing process. It's a good thing I don't reside in Munich Germany.

The review by jonmoore is spot on, Augustiner makes great beer and drinking it on tap in Munich at the brewery is an awesome experience. This is the dark version of their standard lager, very good flavor and easy to drink tons of it.

Bottle. Excellent head, beautiful dark brown colour, smooth, caramel and malty. It has a light mouthfeel to it (which I like in this case), and is extremely drinkable. I love it, Augustiner is my favourite German brewery and all their beers are well worth seeking out on draught if you get to Munich/Bavaria.

Beautiful chestnut colour, very good head. Aroma of caramel, dried fruits, oak and roasted malts, initially weak but improves as the beer warms up. Roasted malts and some caramel in the flavour, still a bit thin mouthfeel. Relatively short aftertaste without much bite. A decent Munich dunkel, but I did like the Neumarkter Lammsbräu better!
