Denison's Dunkel is an authentic bottom fermented Dark beer (lager) in the Munich style. It is characteristically a little sweet in the start, followed by a good malty character and continuing with a long, complex finish. It is brewed with a majority of Bavarian malt, including special dehusked dark malt from Bamberg to give it unusual smoothness. It's a great "session" beer. Brewed by Denison's until 2007 Brewed and canned by the Cool Beer Company 2007-2014 A 'tweaked' version with a higher ABV brewed by the Side Launch Beer Company beginning in 2014

Tap at C’est What: Deep clear burgundy color lager with a small foamy head with good retention and minimal lacing. Aroma of nice caramel malt with some light roasted malt. Taste is also a nice mix between some caramel malt with lightly sweet roasted malt. Full body with good carbonation and easily drinkable. Well done and easily drinkable with limited complexity.

I tried this beer on May 16, 2008 at "C'est What Restaurant" in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. The beer poured a dark reddish brown with a creamy tan coloured head. The aroma was sweet malt, roasted malt, some sugar, and a little hoppish tone. The mouthfeel is medium-bodied with medium carbonation. The flavour is sweet and has a nutty character to it. An excellent beer. -

Another highly regarded beer in the Toronto area. Along with the Hefeweizen a truly scrumptious beer. The beer pours a reddish-brown colour with a medium sized head. The aroma is both malty and nutty, all in a medium bodied draught beer. The flavour is rather malty, which I like.

Sampled off tap in your standard, wicked-shaped hefeweizen glass. Pours a simple brown colour with great head retention. Aroma is pleasent but slightly soft. Not as much character comes through as it could with the smell. The same softness plays out in the mouthfeel, though with some more boldness. Mostly malt overcoated by darker, roasted notes. The flavours are rather gentle for a dunkel, but very, very tasty. This is an excellent follow-up with their Weizen.
