Harpoon IPA is an interpretation of the classic English style using hops and malt produced in the United States. The pronounced hop aroma and the deep copper color make an immediate sensory impression. Northwest Cascade hops are used. The aroma is floral, distinctly different from the herbal, spicy, or "cut grass" aromas of other hop varieties. The overall character of this beer is floral, medium body with an aggressive, clean finish.

Kind of bland and tasteless. A good IPA for people who don;t really like IPA. No hoppy bite or distinctive flavor to either put you off or attract you.

Amber with a off-white head. Exceptional aroma of hoppy citrus. Somewhat floral. Very pleasant and enticing. If only the flavor paralleled the aroma. Good flavor, but insufficient hop flavor for an American IPA. Mouthfeel of an average pale ale. Great aroma and good flavor. Score would be higher if this was classified as a pale ale or had more hops.

Clear dark orange, small fluffy lacing foam head. Bitter aroma, little floral. Strong bitter taste. In aftertaste the bitterness changes into floral slowly. (Houston 201408)

Fairly clean and floral ipa. not bad, but definitely lacking in depth. not sure of the age, seemed relatively fresh and pretty balanced if a little light in the hop department for an ipa.

Pours a orangeamber color with decent foam retention and lacing. Clarity is good. The aroma is of hoppy spice, and a bit of fresh apples. The taste is good crisp flavor with a decent ratio of sweetness to bitteress. The mouthfeel has a hop bite at the end.

I was a bit surprised at the orangeish color, but found the aroma quite pleasant and fresh, flowery! (Isn't that what a girl wants, flowers in her aroma?) The mouthfeel was a bit thin to me, but I liked the more bitter undertones in the flavor. It matched the setting that I was in, perfectly, in a little known local place in Raleigh, NC. Kind of rough, a little thin/worn, a little bitter, but once I got to know it better and feel more comfortable with it's feminine side/aroma, I was able to enjoy the subtleties :)

A clear orange to light amber in color. A mostly white, slightly creamy head that was ok in size, but only had average retention. Decent amount of lace sticking to the glass. Some nice hints of citrus along the lines of grapefruit, orange and lemon. Some floral notes followed by a clean malty sweetness. Smells a bit perfumy also. The taste brought forth more of the citrus and fruit. A grapefruit bite, hoppy bitterness with a resiny, piney, malty backbone. A nice little "bite." Well balanced. Medium mouthfeel. Smooth. Crisp and punchy. Dry. Covers the palate very nicely. Leaves plenty of flavor behind. This is a very solid beer by Harpoon. Very good in all aspects. I would be more than happy to drink this if it was available. Worth a try for sure. Well balanced in all aspects. Very easy to drink.

Purchased in Nashville on my trip there. Best by 08/15/10 printed on neck of the bottle. Pours a clean golden colour with a big white creamy head that stays a while and leaves a lot of lace. Beautiful Cascade hop nose. Crisp and dry mouthfeel. Not as bitter as expected, but the hop is on the tasty side. I would call this an easy-drinking hot summer day IPA.

THis beer had poured golden in color with a thick white head but it was there that it stopped the smell and taste was of a true flowers, not hoppy but like a roses. It does have a hoppy after taste but it was overpowered like I was drinking potporri.

Bottle. Poured a clear medium amber colored ale with a three fingers white creamy foamy head that had a good retention. Active carbonation. Good lacing. The aroma is floral hops, caramel malts, flowery, roses, violet . The flavor is floral and pine hops, caramel malts, a touch of bread. A nice malty / hoppy balance. The mouthfeel is slightly crispy, creamy and very smooth, perhaps more watery than others IPAs. This medium bodied ale has a lingering bitter finish and aftertaste. A solid brew.
