Clear with small little lacing foam head. Aroma is normal barley pilsner, so is taste. Nothing special, just a decent German beer. Lasting aftertaste. (Velp 201403)

Presentation: It was poured from a brown 355ml bottle with a produced on date of 03/08. I sampled this beer on 05/23/09. Also I sampled the imported version Munich Gold. Appearance: Its body has a beautiful bright golden color with lots of visible carbonation and good clarity except for some tiny, light tan (probably yeast) floaters. On top there is a bright white sudsy head. It quickly fades out and makes only minimal lacing. Smell: The aroma has light grainy malt with a very slight hint of citrus and some floral hop notes. Taste/Mouth: The flavor has a crisp pale malt base with mild bittering hops that add some mild floral notes. The finish is very clean with just the slightest bitterness from the hops in the after taste. On the palate the active carbonation tickles the tongue and its light to medium body slides down easily. Notes: Over all a nice refreshing beer. I know this Lager was a little bit on the old side and I thick that’s why I got the small particles. However the flavor was bright and crisp with no off flavors.

Bottled (from beerangel.de). Golden colour, mediumsized fluffy/bubbly head. Aroma is malts, some slight diacetyl, hops and mild notes of rubber. Flavour is malts, some hops and also grains. The grainyness turns into saltwatery notes as the beer warms up a bit.

So there I was, walking down Browns Line, the other main road outside my apartment, when I happened to see an ad fo Hacker's Hefe in this restaurant window. Now, this was a little german restaurant; a proper family setting, not somewhere where one would go just to drink. But the idea of Hacker Hefe on tap was just too much to pass up as I've never had it before. Alas, after entering the establishment, I discovered that the one and only beer Hacker beer they had on tap was not the Hefe, but this one. I was hesitant at first, but I thought "What the hell, Why not?". Boy am I ever glad I did, as leave it to Hacker to make a quality Euro Lager, a style I've never been to keen on. A great pale gold colour gives way to an awesome yeast smell with a yeast backbone that minimizes the sweetness - a European version of Moosehead is the impression I got. The mouthfeel was very round and crisp. I could drink this beer many times over.

Bottled. Poured a nice, light golden, with a smallish white head. Average lacing. Malty and hoppy aroma. Malty taste. Malty aftertaste. Lightly carbonated, medium mouthfeel, bit thin at the end. Not bad.
