Our thirst quenching wheat beer was first brewed to celebrate the opening of our new brewery Enscheden. It was so popular, we now brew it all year round. Being a little untraditional, this isn't your usual wheat beer. Grolsch Weizen needs a special pouring ritual to release yeast and protein creating the unique soft refreshing taste.

Hazy yellow color with lasting white foam head. Aroma is quite fruity, so is taste. Nice weizen aroma, not too fruity, good citrus mix. Refereshing beer, good for thurst. (Velp 201203)

Purchased at the LCBO. Comes in a typical Grolsch swing-top bottle, but is brown instead of green. The label on the neck says 5.3% ABV and best before 14122008. Pours a cloudy golden-beige colour with a nice white creamy head that leaves great thick lacing. Good light tiny bubble carbonation which is continuous. Beautiful aromas of banana bread and wheat malt. The mouthfeel is rather thick, not as watery as most weizen tried. Still refreshing, but a surprise from a macro-brewer like this. I see little particles that are white at the bottom of the glass. The taste has the banana as well, mild spices and soft bubblegum aftertaste. Quite a hefeweizen coming from Grolsch.

Swing top" liter. Pale clouded yellow with a decent puffy cap great lacing. Light clove-banana aroma with a nice wisp of sweet malt. Velvety mouth feel, good body, ample toasty wheat tastes mingle with fruit and spice and a lemony tartness and drying in the finish. Color me impressed...a decent enough hefe for a commercial brewer..mild, smooth and approachable.

This beer is worth buying simply for the bottle alone. Swingtop and contoured glass. The beer inside is pretty good too. A cloudy gold beer with a huge white head. The aroma was wheaty, clovey (is that a word) with hints of bananas. The flavour was slightly sweet and very refreshing. A nice balance between the wheat and spiciness flavours with a good bitter finish.

    450ml swingtop bottle
    5.3% ABV
Queen's Quay LCBO Outlet (Toronto, Ontario, Canada)

The beer poured a hazy orange gold colour with a huge foamy head. The aroma was wheat, some malt, and some spicy notes. The mouthfeel is medium bodied, slippery, and mildy carbonated. The flavour is wheaty with some sweet banana and malt hints

450 ml brown swingtop bottle, courtesy of Cardinal pub, Stavanger. ABV is 5.5%. Golden colour, slightly hazy. Huge white head. Strong and sweetish aroma of candy, banana, citrus and bubblegum. Typical hefeweizen flavour with banana and cloves, hints of citrus. Somewhat sweeter than the bulk of hefeweizens. Very refreshing.

Hazy pale golden colour, big creamy white head. Aroma is wheat, malts, citrusy hops and some slight notes of plastic. Flavour is citrus, wheat some malts and hints of caramel. A decent Hefeweizen, even though the plastic aroma ruins it a bit.
