This unfiltered wheat ale is a West Coast favourite. Enjoy ROBSON ST. HEFEWEIZEN chilled in a tall, slim glass and although our brewmaster may scoff, a lemon wedge is the perfect accessory to the natural fruit flavours of this refreshing beer. TASTING NOTES Vaguely tart with light clove and banana flavours and aromas. Finishes crisp and dry. FOOD PAIRINGS The breakfast beer. Great with brunch or by itself on a sunny patio. Perfect pairing: Poached eggs or Weisswurst.

Like a lot of Granville Island beers, this isn’t very close to style, It pours a murky golden-brown with a generous snow white head. The aroma is grains, yeast, and spices, but lacking in the clove and bubble gum area that a good heferweizen has. Similar comment on the flavour as the sweetness that comes up front with a good German hefe is not present, instead a bland herbal flavour is up front before a hoppy finish.

341 ml bottle - pours a clouded honey colored ale in the weizen glass - puffy 2 finger cap has moderate retention. Weak carbonation for the style. Aroma of biscuits, succulent fruit, ginger and some sweetness (very pleasant but short of the cloves & bubble gum we expect from a premium Bavarian hefeweizen). Nice waft of biscuit mats in front, fruity and very light hop presence - long, clean, slightly sweet finish...no after tastes. A good commercial Hefe by a national brewer but it misses the spritzy peppery bottle conditioned carbonation and dryness expected of the style. Not bad, but not good either.

Thanks to Chopz for the tradesies! Poured a small layer of fizzy head. Not really much lacing. Aromas of bananas, mild spices, hints of vanilla. Pretty damn smooth mouthfeel. Also getting the banana in the flavour, as well as wheats, and some tropical type fruits. Sweetness on the palate. Pretty good easy drinking hefe.

Purchased a 6-pack of this at The Beer Store in Ottawa. Pours a pretty hazy golden-amber with a creamy off-white head, great retention with some lacing. It does not go down more than 4mm, just thick and creamy. Great wheat nose with lots of spices, notes of caramel malt and bananas. Lightly-bodied but kind of creamy. Wheat taste with hints of banana bread, vanilla and the spices are quite mild. Not as tasty as the aromas give out to be. Still, a pretty decent Canadian Hefe that is nice to have in Ontario (finally).

Granville Island/Creemore Springs Mixed 6 pack
The beer poured a dark hazy gold colour with a thin white head. Easily the darkest hefeweizen I've seen. The aroma is weak wheat, and fruity...bananas not as pronounced as other hefes. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with medium carbonation. Flavour is sweet fruit, and stale wheat. Not a great hefe by any measure. -

Way better out of the glass as your intake system than straight out of the bottle, and the beer does grow on you the more you imbibe. Has a bit of a weird mouthfeel that kinda sticks to the roof of your mouth and leaves a bit of as bitter aftertaste. Kinda hoppy for a Hefe. It was different, at least to my palate and not at all what I was expecting.

Another of Granville Island's "Limited Releases" (for summer), this was as good a Hefeweizen as I've had. A nice head and colour, aroma as alright, but mouthfeel and the slightly sweet taste were first-rate.
