One of these days I hope to find a cream ale that is creamy and not a thin bodied wannabee. Like all others, this is a thin bodied wannabee. A clear amber pour with a thin off-white head. Caramel and yeast dominate the aroma with hints of maple and earthy hops there to remind you it’s a beer. Flavour is on the sweet side, not surprisingly, with notes of caramel, maple, and brown sugar. Too sweet to finish.

Pours a pretty small amount of head, just a thin layer remains and actually goes away fairly quick. Ok lacing. Has a clear light amber appearance, sort of looks like maple syrup. Bready malt aromas, not much maple, very faint. Spiced and herbal hops aromas also. Mild maple flavours, just slightly in the mix. Sweet nutty roasted malts, hints of caramel and toffee. Full bodied mouthfeel, average carbonation. Also has a watery mouthfeel and a slick mouthcoating sensation. Nice and strong in the finish. Not too bad, probably just above average.

Nice, a Granville 12-bottle mixer pack at The Beer Store. Pours a clean copper colour with an off-white, creamy head, that has decent retention and cream-like lacing. Beautiful mildly sweet nose with the caramel malt and butterscotch notes and kind of nutty. The maple appears a bit more in the taste, but very well-balanced to not overpower the sweetness. Hints of apples with the smooth malts. Quite nice to have a cream ale with the maple (instead of the normal lagers or blonde ales). Feels more like a light maple nut brown.

Review done right from the bottle because I feel to lazy to walk fifteen feet to the glasses. I think this looks like beer. Smells like the average Granville, pennies, nuts, malty toasted niceness, I do notice maple but only after some hard work. Soft carbonation, medium body, clean finish. Malty with noticeable maple, and a sock full of pennies. Nutty with a overall creamy taste. Easy drinking, nothing remarkable, I soddenly feel very bored but content.

This is quite different from most beers. It does have a very distinctive maple flavour, but I do find it to be quite delicious. It goes down quite easily, but should only be consumed like 1 or 2 at a time due to the sweetness in the flavour.

A so-so start, with a sub one-fingered tan head, quickly gone away to nothing, and an attractive clear and dark amber. Aroma was initially quite unbeer-like, but gradually both some malt and a bit of the maple syrup emerged. The taste also was the hint of maple, but really nothing else seemed at play here. Mouthfeel was "adequate", but the aftertaste was curious; again, not so much like beer. A bit of promise at the "get acquainted" stage but ultimately disappointing.

Bottle: Fills my mug with a dark copper ale with a smallish sticky cap that vanished in a few minutes.weakly lacing the class. soft carbonation Aromas of cerial grains and sweet clover Middle weight malt spine, soft silky mouth feel, soft rounded mellow character Nice chew of toasty malts at the front side then a mingle of layered tastes, clover, berry, apricot, some soft herb and spice tones all wrapped in the non cloying presense of diluted honey ( floral ash-like)...finishes wet with the honey acting as a mellowing agent for the hops and giving a nice herbacious tone to the bready finish. Nicely done...I am warming up to the artful use of honey in well crafted beers...it works.

Little seemingly colourless head that hung around for a miniute or so..initial aroma was similar to having freshly caught fish sitting in yer boat, then it changes to a bland carmelly odour. nasty bitter watery aftertaste and the tiniest hint of maple...if it wasnt called maple cream i probally woulntve noticed. ick. i really don't like this at all. Sorry Granville - you've got a lot of tasty beers, but htis is NOT one of them
