Bottled on 7/26/10--gotta love the fresh hop aroma and taste! The label says this is an American Pale Ale and it seems to be right on the line between IPA and APA. Not quite as bitter or hoppy as an IPA but definitely a top class pale ale--plenty of aromatic citrusy hops and bitterness without completely killing your palate. If I had access to this on a regular basis, it could become my go-to beer.

Sweetgrass is an IPA of interesting character. Beneficial to my palatte in multiple dimensions such as the flavor is, as the label, sweet grass tasting. Also, I detect hints of maybe some sweet pea pods and or sweet corn. It has a very sweet garden flavor accompanied nicely with some hops to make a nice thing. "damn that some sweet-ass sweetgrass!"

a fruity fairly aromatic ipa. not as big as many of the west coast hop bombs i am used to, but it's a pretty tasty well balanced beer (if a little light). i'd buy again.

the aroma was a weak malt with a slight fruit essence. it looks like an ipa but the flavors were just there for me. i'm wondering how old this bottle might be. this just isn't typical grand teton brew.

An enjoyable beer from Beerhunter, however a little weak in the hops department, leaving the taste with more APA type experience. Poured a cloudy golden colour. Plenty of floral and citrus notes immediately. Flavour was what let me down. Creamy, soft grapefruit with a hint of hops in the finish. Better luck next time. 9/28- rerated with a better experience. Super tastey with a earthy, heady full bodied flavour.

Courtesy of Zythum. Poured a slightly cloudy amber color with a thin head. The aroma was largely mild with a slight presence of hops. The flavor was dominated by hops and I detectd some orange zest. Finished smooth.

This was one of the beers that I picked up at Top's Liquor in Tempe, AZ while trying out beers from different states. This one takes care of Idaho for me and although it wasn't my first ever Idaho microbrew, it is the first that I am reviewing here.
When pouring the beer out in my pint glass, the first thing I noticed was the extremely clear, golden-orange color. On top of that was a very light, platinum white head. When drinking the beer, it leaves a moderate amount of lacing on the side of the glass. The aroma coming from the glass isn't too bad. It's a light grapefruit-like citrus aroma that I picked up on. It wasn't strong or dominant like other IPAs though. I really had to work to pick up on it.
This one isn't that bad, but it's a little weak as compared to other IPAs. Maybe the hops shortage has hit this brewery, but they could really use to up the dosage on this one and make it a heartier IPA. What you have in the flavor is a light citrusy flavor that has hints of grassiness to it. The beer drinks well, but might be a tad bit light to run with the big boys.
Bottom line, I'm thinking this is an IPA with training wheels. It would probably do well with those new to the IPA style, but for us old grizzled vets who love having our taste buds burned off while drinking an IPA, it doesn't cut the mustard. -

I think someone forgot to put hops in the boil. Seriously. For an IPA to have this minimal amount of hops is a crime. If it weren't for the appearance and mouthfeel, this would be 4's across the board. An aroma of light melon, biscuts with a very minimal citrus angle. Appearance orangish/gold in color, with a one-finger white head. Flavor was melons, wet grass and with a slight sweetness. Suprisingly dry for an IPA. This was just so damn boring I nearly fell asleep while drinking it.

12 oz bottle. Pours a hazy goden yellow with a creamy white head that retains well and laces the glass.
The aroma is sweet melon and grassy hops with a touch of pepper.
The flavor is some sugary sweetness and a little melon followed by an earthy bitter hop finish. It's a little too sweet and I don't particularly care for the hop flavor but it has decent bitterness. The mouthfeel is medium bodied with smooth carbonation.
Overall, a well-made IPA. The flavor profile isn't totally up my alley though.
