Amber/red in colour with a defined malt aroma. Upfront malt sweetness that dries out in the finish. Pale & Munich malts are balanced by German Hallertau Tradition and Mittelfruh hops. Very minimal bitterness, yet the standard GRB 'back of the throat' finish is there. Very easy drinker.

Dark amber pour. What little head there is disappears fast and leaves not a spot of lacing. Mild sweet caramel malt aroma. Quite a bland flavour, with some toffee, honey and sour fruit. Not that enjoyable but I must finish what I started.

Single bottle from the LCBO. Pours a dark amber colour with a foamy, off-white head that fizzes away to leave no lacing at all. Barley malt nose that is quite grainy with cereal, but with a little fruitiness to it. Medium-bodied with an oily mouthfeel. Starts off a bit sweet, but the cereals tone down things with a little hop in the finish. Notes of fruit and toffee. Quite drinkable for those who really like a good barley malt bite.

The beer pours a translucent copper-gold colour with a thin head. The aroma is bready malts and not much else. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with medium carbonation. Flavour has a slight sweet malty tinge to it, and some grains. Not a keeper. -

Sampled at the brewery: taps a roily, hazed burnished copper color. Smallish but frothy lasting cap. Aromas of rich toasty sweet malts over a musty eartyness,,,really great nose. Full bodied, full flavored... fat malts and twiggy noble hops... rich satisfying bready-toasty bock. Wish they’d make this unfiltered version available all year.
