Clear golden color with a sparkly white head and plenty of lacing. Piney hop aroma. A little citrus and peppery. Medium body with a malty start that leads to a bitter hop finish. A solid beer but maybe not as good as the rating indicates.

The flagship beer of the Goose Island brewery, now brewed in Canada…yay? Comes with a twist-off cap. When did twist-offs become part of the craft beer movement? Anyway, the beer pours a translucent pale copper colour with a thin tan coloured ring. The aroma is caramel, biscuit, and citrus. The flavour is similar. I can’t help but wonder if Lake Michigan water is somehow better than St. Lawrence river water.

Pours a clean lighter amber colour with a frothy-foamy light-beige head that hangs on a little bit, leaving some full-foamy lace. The nose is nutty, with dark malts and some hops. The taste has more hops with the darker barley in the background. Not bad, but you can see that a macro has bought this and taken cheaper ingredients. Not as bad as the big guys, but not was I expected.

Simple straight forward Ipa that's nothing special but still enjoyable and drinkable. Well balanced with pine being the most prominent flavour and aroma.

The beer pours a lightly hazed metallic gold colour with a long lasting frothy head. The aroma is citrus, grains, light spices and yeast. The mouthfeel is medium full bodied with average carbonation. The flavour is citrusy grapefruit, grains, and a spicy finish. Quite good, but not as hoppy as I was expecting it to be.

16 oz can from Pt Roberts (WA) Marketplace. Clear pour of medium gold, and a quickly vanishing creamy ivory head. Aroma was floral, with a hint of grapefruit. Decent mouthfeel. Flavour was rightly bitter, along with pine and citrus notes. A worthy effort. About as good on tap, too.

On tap at Royal Oak Pub. Pours a good size frothy head that goes away not long after. Has a pale golden appearance. Thick patchy lacing. Aromas of citrus and floral hops. Flavours are mostly citrus hops and bready and caramel malts. Average carbonation. Light bodied mouthfeel. Pretty good, just missing a bit of punch.

Malt and vanilla in the nose with some peppery hop notes and some apricot. Medium gold body with effervescence and crystal clarity is topped by a medium eggwhite head that leaves good lace. Mouth is creamy for an IPA and fairly full bodied. The flavor is timid but well balanced. Probably a great beer to introduce a friend to the IPA style for the first time. The hops are there and the malt is there its just very restrained, slightly bitter finish with a hint of sweetness as well. Somehow avoids tasting watered down, this has more taste than the recently popular lower alcohol style IPA's (which this isn't.) I wish they could make a nice flavorful IPA at 4.5% or less. At any rate this veer would be quite session able for an IPA, interesting beer.

355 ml capped bottle. Poured in a half pint shaker glass a light hazy and golden-orange coloured IPA with a one finger beige and creamy foamy head that had a very long retention and tons of micro bubbles. Soft carbonation. Good lacing. The aroma is pronounced floral and piney hops, flowery, violet, caramel malts, fruity, grapefruits, tangerines. The flavour is malty, light biscuits, spicy, orange peels, citrussy and piney hops, strong flowery, violet and fruity, tangerines, oranges. The mouthfeel is light crispy, creamy, smooth and light sticky. The texture is oily. This medium bodied IPA has a lingering hoppy bitter and spicy finish. Easy drinkable, well balanced, tasty, flavourful, for short ... a nice IPA from Chicago, Illinois.

A golden color with a white head. Aroma contains some pine, oranges, and lemons. The flavor is slightly bitter with some oranges, lemons, and tropical fruit notes. Aftertaste is bitter. Overall a nice session beer.
