Named after an area in Western PEI where the shore appears black from layers of peat moss, Black Banks Cascadian Dark Ale is deceptively dark. It’s like a little lie in a glass. At first glance you might expect strong, roasty and coffee aromas, but instead you’ll get a snoot-full of bright citrus and tropical hop aromas gliding just above mild but rich chocolate and bread-crust aromas. Brewed with roasted wheat, hopped like mad with Millennium, Cascade, Amarillo, and Columbus hops in the boil. We dry hopped with Falconer’s Flight, a blend of aromatic hops from the Pacific Northwest.

It's a little different from most of the beers of this style but still quite tasty. Not much going on in the aroma department. Medium smooth mouthfeel. Flavour is earthy and piney, bitter coffee and chocolate. A bit odd in the hop flavour but still enjoyed it.
